POSITION SUMMARY The Graphics Production Manager is responsible for leading the Witte Museum’s in-house graphics production operation and managing the production, fabrication, and installation of graphic elements across exhibitions, programs, visitor experiences, and institutional initiatives. This full-time role supports the Creative team through technical production expertise, vendor coordination, and hands-on fabrication, ensuring that the production of internal and external graphics is executed to the highest standards of quality, durability, and visual consistency. The Graphics Production Manager oversees the museum’s graphics production shop, including large-format printing and finishing equipment, and serves as the primary liaison with external printers and fabricators for projects beyond in-house capabilities. Working collaboratively with the Art Director, designers, exhibition developers, and project teams, this role ensures that design concepts are translated into production-ready and visitor-centered experiences through effective planning, file preparation, material selection, and installation coordination. This position requires strong technical expertise in print production and fabrication, knowledge of current materials and methods in exhibition and environmental graphics, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with precision and professionalism. RESPONSIBILITIES • Operate and maintain the museum’s in-house graphics production shop, including large-format printers, vinyl cutters, laminators and mounting tools, tracking material inventory and ordering supplies., • Produce exhibition, wayfinding, and program graphics through in-house printing, cutting, mounting, and finishing., • Install and deinstall graphics in galleries and public-facing spaces, in coordination with the Exhibitions team., • Prepare, adjust, and finalize design files for print and fabrication, reviewing files for scale, color, resolution, bleeds, materials, and mounting requirements., • Organize, archive, and maintain production files, templates, and documentation., • Communicate with external printers and fabricators for projects beyond in-house capacity, requesting quotes, preparing and releasing print-ready files, and tracking production schedules., • Coordinate delivery and, when applicable, support or arrange on-site installation., • Advise on appropriate materials, substrates, and fabrication methods based on durability, accessibility, environmental conditions, and visitor use., • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned in support of Creative team and museum priorities.EDUCATION, • Associate or bachelor’s degree in graphic production, graphic design, exhibition design, print technology, or related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered., • Additional training or coursework in graphic production, print technology or related fields preferred.QUALIFICATIONS, • Minimum three years of professional experience in graphics production, exhibition graphics, print fabrication, or environmental graphics., • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, with an emphasis on preparing production-ready files., • Strong working knowledge of large-format printing workflows, vinyl cutting, mounting and finishing techniques., • Experience coordinating with external printers, fabricators and installation vendors., • Knowledge of materials, substrates, adhesives, and fabrication methods used in exhibition and environmental graphics., • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously., • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality execution., • Collaborative, adaptable, and solution-oriented, with strong communication skills and a focus on visitor experience., • Experience working in a museum, cultural institution, fabrication studio or experience design environment preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, • Regular use of computers and production equipment such as large format printers, cutters, and mounting tools., • Ability to bend, walk, climb stairs, stand and sit for extended periods., • Ability to lift and maneuver materials associated with graphics production and installation., • Ability to safely use hand tools and production equipment in shop and gallery environments., • Availability to work flexible hours as needed to support installations and project deadlines.
