Job Description Duration: At least 1 Year from projected start date Note: • Hybrid, 3 days remote, 2 days onsite (Mon & Wed onsite). Likely extension. Position Summary: • We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Insurance Risk & Claims Analyst to support the State’s Risk Management function. This position will assist with insurance claims, third-party administrator (TPA) coordination, vendor insurance requirements, premium billing, policy administration, and agency support., • The successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of the State’s insurance portfolio and serve as a knowledgeable resource to internal agencies, management, brokers, and other stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: • Coordinate day-to-day claims activities with the State’s third-party administrator, including claim approvals, denials, settlements, releases, and related documentation within established authority levels., • Review claims that exceed delegated authority and prepare complete documentation for management review and approval., • Track claim activity, service levels, outstanding matters, and emerging trends; provide regular updates to Risk Management leadership., • Process and monitor insurance premiums, invoices, payments, reconciliations, and internal cost allocations., • Develop working knowledge of the State’s property, automobile liability, railroad liability, medical malpractice, and other commercial insurance programs., • Explain applicable insurance coverage and requirements to agency personnel and assist with routine insurance-related questions., • Review vendor RFPs, contracts, and scopes of work to determine appropriate insurance requirements., • Assist in improving procedures, documentation, and workflows related to insurance and risk-management activities., • Act as a primary contact for agencies regarding routine claims, insurance requirements, billing questions, and related requests., • Coordinate with insurance brokers and maintain awareness of policy, coverage, renewal, and claims-related communications., • Maintain accurate electronic and physical records for claims, policies, invoices, payments, and other risk-management documentation., • Monitor and respond to requests received through the Risk Management shared inbox., • Assist with annual insurance renewals by collecting exposure information, underwriting data, loss information, and other required documentation., • Support special projects and strategic initiatives assigned by the Head of Risk Management., • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required Qualifications: • Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance, claims, risk management, or a closely related field preferred., • Familiarity with commercial insurance policies, claims processes, and insurance administration., • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when working with financial records, claims, and policy information., • Ability to understand detailed procedures, apply established guidelines, and work within defined authority limits., • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines., • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications., • Ability to work effectively with internal agencies, insurance professionals, third-party administrators, and management.\nCompany Description 22nd Century Technologies, Inc.
