Job Description Summary 2nd Presbyterian Weekday School is hiring a co-teacher for 2's for the 2026-2027 school year!However, if wanting to start earlier than August 2026, we have possibly earlier start times available. We are looking for passionate and creative early childhood educators to join our teaching community. 2nd Pres. believes learning starts with safe and healthy relationships between teachers and children. From there, our curriculum is a balance of supporting developmental milestones and supporting children's interests through hands-on, experiential learning. We serve children 6 weeks through kindergarten and utilize our beautiful building and outdoor campus for all ages. We offer co-teaching positions to candidates with a degree and classroom experience, mentorship positions for those excited to get started in the early childhood education field, and after school positions for those interested in working our After Care (3:00-5:00) program. Our program runs from the end of August through May, and we follow a traditional school calendar including Christmas and Spring break. Our staff and faculty receive a paycheck year-round. Duties • In weekly planning sessions, coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards with your co-teacher or mentor teacher., • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching., • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth., • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, parent night events and parent-teacher conferences., • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met., • Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children., • Maintain accurate records, forms and files., • Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. Requirements • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills., • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment., • An understanding of child development., • Must clear a full background check and must pass health screening., • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl., • A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception., • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Nice To Haves • Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience preferred., • Associate's degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in early childhood education preferred., • Bachelor 's Degree in education or related field of study., • Salary is commensurate with degree and experience. Benefits Salary: School year is August through May • Children of staff may attend our school if room is available. The Registration Fee is waived for all staff children and partial scholarships may be available., • Enrolled children of staff members may attend extended day services without charge when the staff member is working during those hours at the school., • An optimum teacher/pupil ratio., • Educational specialists such as Music Teacher, Movement Teacher, Art Specialist and Early Interventionist are all additional support. In addition, a Speech-Language Pathologist is available on an as-needed basis., • Personal days are included in most contracts., • Bereavement leave is available to all., • Education incentives are accessible to all., • Staff members may keep their enrolled preschool children with them before and after school hours., • Our program runs from the end of August through May, and we follow a traditional school calendar including Christmas and Spring break. Teachers are not expected to spend their own money on supplies., • A laminating machine and copier are available for use when documents are school related. A computer is supplied to each classroom to assist teachers when planning, preparing parent teacher conferences and documentation, etc., • Teachers may use the library, atrium or other areas of our campus for a quiet space to each lunch and relax when on breaks., • The Board pays pertinent early childhood conference registration fees (LECA/KECA/SECA, NAEYC) etc. and the fee for state-mandated CPR and pediatric first aid courses., • Board-Parents treat staff to weeklong "Teacher Appreciation Week" and many luncheons.

FLSA Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly Pay Rate: $16.00 Per hour Number of Positions: 2 Duties and Responsibilities: • Assists Creative Making Manager with implementation of creative making programs through program content development, choice and preparation of materials, internal and external correspondence, and facilitation of activities and program offerings. Such as Adult Workshops, Memories at the Museum, and Camps,, • Coordinates with community partners and vendors under the Creative Making Manager’s direction., • Oversees the daily operations of Art Sparks and Planet Preschool. This includes staffing the spaces as needed during public hours, performing opening and closing duties and cleaning/safety procedures, providing knowledgeable and engaging learning opportunities for Art Sparks visitors by welcoming guests to the space, offering information, and answering questions, always representing the Museum in a guest-forward capacity., • Aids in the overall maintenance of Creative Making spaces and resources, including interpretive elements in the Museum’s special exhibitions and permanent collection galleries., • Maintains inventory of program materials and equipment, and communicates facility needs to the Creative Making Manager promptly., • Maintains awareness of the Museum calendar for use of Art Sparks spaces for public programs, event needs, and internal meetings, and ensures that spaces are ready for use when booked., • Represents Creative Making in cross-departmental organizational calendar meetings to learn about events, programs, and share Creative Making information., • Collaborates interdepartmentally and cross-departmentally in the development and facilitation of Creative Making. Helps coordinate and communicate Creative Making logistics with other departments as needed., • Helps in documentation and record-keeping of Creative Making content, offerings, attendance figures, photographs, and statistics. Administers program surveys and evaluation tools., • Collaborate with other Curatorial/Public Programs department team members to develop and facilitate events such as Speed Family, Speed Social, Speed Salon, Speed Slow Down, Speed Legacy, Speed Together, gallery and creative making collaborative experiences, etc., • Evening and weekend hours are required., • Attend Curatorial and Creative Making team meetings, all staff meetings, and other meetings as needed., • Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: Qualifications: • 1-2 years’ experience leading art-making workshops with children and adults, teaching in a museum or classroom setting, or other comparable experience required., • Artmaking/creative skills are required. Experience working in or with art museums preferred., • Bachelor’s degree, coursework, or equivalent experience in art education, studio arts, art history, museum education, or equivalent preferred.
