Job Description Overview: An acclaimed chef-driven, award winning restaurant group in Boston seeks an experienced, driven, energetic, organized, and hospitality driven Assistant General Manager (AGM) to assist in leading day to day operations of their busy, full service upscale casual Italian restaurant and bar. If you are team oriented and passionate about supporting and developing a great team as well as seasonal, hand made food and a great beverage program then this could be the perfect fit. We are looking for someone who truly understands the value of hospitality in a high volume, upscale environment and can foster an environment of teamwork from the dining room to the kitchen. The AGM should possess the mindset of always being “of service” to others, and be able to lead by example so this translates to the rest of the team. The ideal candidate is extremely self-motivated and systems driven, should have an entrepreneurial mindset and a creative outlook when it comes to leadership and operations. This is a full service, casual fine dining environment–so it is preferred that candidates have a background in fine dining–especially in award winning chef driven environments. The restaurant focuses on seasonal dishes highlighting the diverse cuisine of the coastal Italian region, drawing inspiration from Italy’s coastal towns. As the General Manager, you will guide and shape the service, team, operations, and overall guest experience at the restaurant and bar. The primary focuses of this role are team leadership and development with all FOH team members, financial accountability for the restaurant’s P&L, and brand maintenance and awareness. The General Manager has overarching authority over all aspects of the restaurant, and works collaboratively to drive the overall financial and operational performance of this restaurant and bar. You serve as the culinary nuts-and-bolts in our restaurants while managing and staying accountable for your team of culinarians. Walk-in, pick-up & delivery orders are handled with equal care and attention., • Oversee the quality of fresh ingredients received from our farm partners, while overseeing inventory, supply, prep lists, ordering, and QA processes in the restaurant., • Run successful shifts by organizing the deployment board and managing the prep schedule day in and day out., • Execute line checks while measuring what's ready to serve, what needs to be prepared, and any potential waste. You think ahead to ensure service runs smoothly., • Manage and maintain a tight and orderly kitchen operation, including storage, labeling, preparation, and all safety protocols.
