Job Description Assistant Camp Manager – PADONIA Summer Camps Seasonal Full-Time/Seasonal | Non-Exempt/Hourly | Reports To: Camps Manager The PADONIA 30-acre campus located in Cockeysville includes Maryland’s largest swim club, top Baltimore caterers for weddings, mitzvahs, company picnics as well as celebrations, PADONIA Learning Center for Infants to Pre-K and PADONIA Summer Camps for ages 4 to 13. Job Summary: Assistant Camp Manager is responsible for the direct supervision, safety, and engagement of campers while supporting the daily operations of PADONIA. This position requires active participation and adherence to all policies, procedures, and safety standards. Assistant Camp Managers are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and contribute to a safe, structured, and positive camp environment. Assistant Camp Manager also oversees the organization, preparation, and day-to-day operations of a successful youth day camp. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: • Supervise campers at all times to ensure their safety, well-being, and appropriate conduct, • Develop, coordinate, and oversee safe, well-rounded, age-appropriate, engaging, energetic, fun, high quality camp programs and activities for campers, • Oversee camper placement within groups, • Develop curriculum and lists of supplies for purchasing during the development stage of camp preparation, • Arrange inventory for materials and supplies to support the program, • Lead, assist with, and participate in scheduled camp activities and daily routines, • Implement approved behavior management strategies in accordance with PADONIA Summer Camps policies and procedures, • Address emergency situations, • Rule enforcement, • Attend and actively participate in all required staff trainings, meetings, and orientations, • Schedule staff along with Camps Manager and Director, • Train, manage, and evaluate staff providing support and disciplinary measures when necessary, • Safely oversee camper participation in camp activities; additional training or certification may be required for certain activities, including but not limited to, zipline, ropes course, archery, or adventure programming, • Cleaning duties include all areas such as full bathroom, cleaning toilets, showers, floors, event spaces, offices, swimming pools, grounds, stocking, trash, etc., • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of camp facilities and shared spaces, • Comply with all health, safety, operational, and supervision guidelines as outlined in organizational manuals and policies, • Ability to work in Swim Club, Events, Childcare, and other areas of PADONIA, • All other duties as assigned or required Minimum Qualifications: • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, • Bachelor’s Degree required, • 2+ years’ experience working with children and prior management experience, • Successful completion of all required pre-employment background checks, including Child Protective Services screening, • Availability Monday to Friday from June 15, 2026, to August 28, 2026, • Ability to follow instructions and accept supervision from supervisors and managers, and work collaboratively as part of a team, • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, • Commitment to maintaining a respectful, inclusive, and professional work environment, • Ability to lead and motivate, • Organized, • Fun-loving and energetic Physical Demands and Work Environment: This position involves work in both indoor, climate-controlled environments and outdoor settings subject to varying weather conditions. The physical demands described below are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of the position: • Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage for extended periods of time, • Ability to participate in swimming and water-based activities, including entering pools and wearing appropriate swim attire, • Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, running, jumping, bending, kneeling, reaching, crouching, climbing, and participating in adventure-based programming, • Ability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as operationally required, • Ability to work shifts that may include arrival or departure during daylight or nighttime hours, • Sit for extended periods of time up, • Lift, push, or carry 50 lbs. frequently, including children during emergencies, • Must stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, reach, and climb continuously Reasonable Accommodation: In accordance with company policy, reasonable accommodation will be made for any qualified employee to perform the essential functions of the employee’s position, absent undue hardship to the company.
