This role combines hands-on leadership in the field with critical administrative responsibilities, requiring strong communication, organization, and team management skills. The supervisor leads by example, supports team performance, maintains quality standards, and builds strong relationships with both employees and clients while playing a key role in maintaining operational excellence. Responsibilities • Supervise daily evening shift janitorial operations across multiple job sites to ensure consistent service delivery., • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies, standard operating procedures, and client specifications., • Train new employees on cleaning procedures, equipment usage, and safety standards to maintain high-quality service., • Conduct routine quality control inspections, identify service gaps, and implement corrective actions as needed., • Identify, report, and help resolve safety concerns or areas requiring attention at job sites., • Maintain strong client relationships, respond promptly to service needs, and address concerns in a professional manner., • Assist with supply inventory and material management, ensuring locations are adequately stocked for nightly operations., • Perform janitorial and custodial duties as needed to support operations and cover staffing gaps., • Travel between multiple job sites during the shift to oversee teams and verify service quality., • Ensure all company standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed consistently across the evening shift., • Coordinate workforce scheduling and daily task assignments for janitorial teams., • Maintain accurate records, including timecards, schedules, and operational documentation., • Review and submit employee hours using Paycom, ensuring accuracy in time tracking and payroll-related data., • Prepare weekly reports detailing operations, issues, and client feedback, using internal systems and reporting tools., • Collaborate with HR on employee relations matters, including coaching, performance management, and documentation., • Conduct regular check-ins with team members to support engagement, performance, and adherence to standards., • Maintain detailed digital and written records with strong attention to accuracy and completeness., • Generate clear and accurate reports independently using Microsoft Office and other reporting tools., • Manage both field operations and administrative responsibilities effectively within a fast-paced, multi-site environment. Essential Skills • 5–7 years of janitorial or custodial experience, with 5–10 years preferred., • At least 3 years of supervisory experience managing labor teams and client interactions., • Previous experience in janitorial, facilities, or building services supervision preferred., • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead by example., • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-site environment., • Excellent communication skills, including strong written and verbal abilities., • Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, documentation, and multi-site operations., • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in both field and administrative contexts., • Professional demeanor with a customer-service mindset when interacting with clients and staff., • Fluency in English and Spanish., • High school diploma or G.E.D., • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation., • Legally authorized to work in the United States., • Ability to manage both field operations and administrative responsibilities effectively., • Ability to work fully in-person and travel between job sites., • Strong attention to detail in data entry and documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Strong proficiency in Paycom for time tracking and scheduling., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word., • Comfort using mobile apps, internal systems, and reporting tools., • Ability to generate clear and accurate reports independently., • Typing speed of 40–50+ words per minute., • Experience maintaining quality standards and conducting routine inspections., • Experience coaching and supporting team members to improve performance., • Experience collaborating with HR on employee relations and performance documentation. Work Environment This is a fully in-person evening shift role based out of an office in South San Francisco, with a schedule of 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The supervisor begins the shift at the office and then travels by car to multiple job sites as part of daily responsibilities, so reliable transportation and comfort with driving between locations are essential. The work environment is hands-on in janitorial and custodial settings, requiring regular movement through facilities, interaction with cleaning equipment, and adherence to safety standards. Administrative work is performed using computers and mobile devices, leveraging Paycom, Microsoft Excel and Word, and internal reporting tools to manage timekeeping, documentation, and communication. Dress is expected to be professional and appropriate for both office interactions and on-site janitorial supervision. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr.
