Job Description Job Title: Senior HR Generalist Division/Department: Human Resources Reports to: Director of Human Resources • Full Time / Non-Exempt, • Hybrid Opportunity after 6 months Job Summary: The Senior HR Generalist is a key contributor to the HR department, providing advanced support across recruiting, onboarding, benefits, leave administration, HRIS management, compliance reporting, and employee relations. This role ensures HR operations run smoothly, accurately, and in full compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. In addition to managing complex HR responsibilities, the Senior HR Generalist builds departmental capability by training and supporting HR team members and assisting the HR Director with strategic initiatives and projects. This position offers the opportunity to deepen HR expertise and expand leadership skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Lead full‐cycle recruiting for all levels, including leadership and hard‐to‐fill roles., • Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs, talent gaps, and workforce trends., • Oversee recruiting data and recommend improvements to hiring quality and timeliness., • Develop interview guides, hiring rubrics, and process improvements that promote consistency and compliance., • Own the onboarding and orientation process, ensuring a smooth, engaging new‐hire experience., • Design onboarding enhancements to strengthen early engagement and 90‐day retention., • Analyze onboarding feedback trends and present process improvements to HR leadership., • Serve as subject‐matter expert for benefits, FMLA, ADA, and all leave programs., • Support annual benefits renewal, vendor coordination, and open enrollment activities., • Lead wellness initiatives and manage the wellness calendar, participation tracking, and reporting., • Identify utilization trends and recommend program improvement, • Serve as a first‐line HR contact for employee concerns; conduct initial fact‐finding on employee relation issues., • Partner with the HR Director on escalated matters and investigations., • Monitor compliance with employment laws and proactively identify risk areas., • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure required documentation is completed and filed properly., • Identify workflow gaps or inefficiencies and propose process improvements., • Maintain HR SOPs and ensure HR team members are trained on updates., • Support compliance by monitoring adherence to existing policies and procedures., • Assist in rolling out new or updated policies prepared by HR leadership., • Prepare and analyze HR dashboards (turnover, retention, recruiting metrics, leave trends, engagement data)., • Compile and submit compliance reports (EEO‐1, ACA, OSHA logs, VETS‐4212, and other required submissions)., • Present insights and trends to HR leadership and department managers., • Train, coach, and support HR Assistants and HR Generalists on processes, documentation standards, and best practices., • Build guides, checklists, templates, and training materials that support HR operations., • Mentor HR team members to strengthen skillsets and prepare them for future growth., • Serve as the HRIS (Paycor) super user, ensuring system accuracy and data integrity., • Build and maintain workflows, templates, and reports to streamline HR operations., • Support system configuration for performance reviews, onboarding forms, and employee changes., • Lead HR projects from planning through execution (policy rollouts, system enhancements, compliance audits)., • Partner with the HR Director on annual strategic HR initiatives., • Manage vendor relationships for wellness, background checks, ATS, and benefits partners., • Support the HR budget process by gathering data and preparing recommendations. Skills: • Strong working knowledge of employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, and state-level regulations)., • Proficiency with HRIS systems, workflows, and reporting (Paycor experience beneficial)., • Solid understanding of recruiting best practices, interviewing techniques, and applicant tracking processes., • Ability to administer benefits, open enrollment, and vendor coordination., • Ability to prepare, interpret, and present HR metrics, dashboards, and compliance reports (EEO‐1, VETS‐4212, ACA, OSHA, etc.)., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management., • Effective problem‐solving skills for analyzing issues and developing solutions., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality., • Strong relationship‐building skills with employees, leaders, vendors, and external partners., • Ability to coach, guide, and train HR team members to build departmental capability., • Demonstrated initiative in identifying process gaps and recommending improvements., • Strong organizational and time‐management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively., • High level of integrity, judgment, and professionalism., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting department goals., • Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and HR practices., • Positive attitude and a genuine interest in supporting employees and the HR team., • 3+ years of professional HR experience, with demonstrated increasing responsibility., • Experience supporting multiple HR functions such as recruiting, onboarding, benefits, HRIS, employee relations, and compliance., • Prior experience administering benefits and leave programs (FMLA, ADA, etc.)., • Experience managing HR projects, timelines, and cross‐functional coordination., • Experience preparing HR metrics and compliance reports (e.g., EEO‐1, ACA reporting, OSHA logs) strongly preferred., • Prior experience training or mentoring HR team members is a plus., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field preferred., • HR certification preferred, such as: SHRM‐CP, PHR, • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards., • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards., • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs., • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
