Job Description Job Title: Senior Pharmacist Location: Brooklyn, New York Reports To: Pharmacy Director / Pharmacy Manager Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Pharmacist to oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensure safe and effective medication management, and provide exceptional patient care. The Senior Pharmacist will play a leadership role in supervising pharmacy staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and optimizing pharmacy workflows while supporting high standards of clinical practice. Key Responsibilities * Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications accurately and in accordance with state and federal regulations * Provide medication counseling and clinical guidance to patients regarding proper medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions * Supervise and support pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service * Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards * Maintain accurate patient medication records and ensure proper documentation * Monitor for potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications * Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize patient treatment plans * Oversee inventory management, medication ordering, and proper storage of pharmaceuticals * Ensure controlled substances are managed according to DEA and state requirements * Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives * Assist with staff training, onboarding, and performance development * Support implementation of new pharmacy systems, policies, and procedures Qualifications * Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited pharmacy school * Active and unrestricted New York State Pharmacist License * Minimum of 5+ years of pharmacist experience, preferably in retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy settings * Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices * Excellent clinical judgment and attention to detail * Proven leadership and supervisory experience * Strong communication and patient counseling skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment Preferred Qualifications * Prior experience in a supervisory or senior pharmacist role * Experience with electronic pharmacy management systems and electronic health records * Board certification or advanced clinical training (preferred but not required) Key Competencies * Clinical Expertise * Leadership & Staff Development * Regulatory Compliance * Patient Care & Counseling * Operational Efficiency * Problem Solving & Decision Making Compensation & Benefits * Competitive salary commensurate with experience * Health insurance
