Job DescriptionIndustrial / Manufacturing Engineer Alternate Job Titles • Chemical Manufacturing Engineer, • Production Process Engineer, • Manufacturing Process Specialist, • Industrial Engineer – Chemical Plant Onsite Flexibility: Onsite Contract Details: • Position Type: Contract, • Contract Duration: Approx. 12 Months, • Start Date: As soon as possible, • Shift/Hours: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (rotating 2-week schedule - Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday / Week 2 – Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday)Job SummaryThe Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer supports chemical manufacturing operations by providing technical guidance, problem-solving expertise, and process improvement leadership. This role requires strong production experience, chemical engineering or chemistry knowledge, and the ability to work rotating night shifts in a fast-paced environment. Military experience is highly valued for this role.Key Responsibilities, • Support operational functions and departmental projects to achieve company objectives, • Cover floor operations when the supervisor is absent and communicate status updates, • Lead troubleshooting efforts, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions, • Train and mentor new personnel on equipment, processes, and safety standards, • Engage in process improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA) to improve efficiency and compliance, • Ensure safe and accurate operation of industrial reactors, centrifuges, dryers, and ion exchange columns, • Assist supervisors with workflow management and performance improvement activities, • Maintain high-quality standards, compliance, and safe work practices, • Participate in customer interactions where required, ensuring excellent communication and service, • Report unsafe conditions and promote a safe work environmentRequired Experience, • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field, • OR Associate degree with 5+ years of large-scale chemical manufacturing experience, • 1+ years of production experience (minimum), • Stable work history in chemical manufacturingNice-to-Have Experience, • 2–3 years in a manufacturing or production environment, • Prior military experience, • Experience with customer-facing rolesRequired Skills, • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA), • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, • Knowledge of SAP, Word, Excel, Access and industrial control systems (DCS), • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, • Attention to detail and ability to work with changing prioritiesPreferred Skills, • Experience operating powered industrial equipment and manufacturing machinery, • Knowledge of product flow in large-scale chemical processes, • Team-building and leadership abilitiesAdditional Requirements, • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and move 300+ pound drums (assistance available), • Must wear PPE including respirators, gloves, chemical suits, and protective eyewear as required, • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, humidity, and potential chemical exposure, • Strong attendance and schedule adherenceBenefits• Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans • 401k Retirement FundAbout The CompanyLeading research-intensive biopharmaceutical company committed to saving and improving lives.
