Job Title: Assistant Project Manager (APM) & Project Engineer Multifamily Construction Company: Beaudin Construction Location: Bend, Oregon (With travel to project sites throughout the surrounding region) Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt Schedule: Monday Friday (Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required depending on project timelines) Pay Range: $70,000 $90,000 per year (Based on Experience) + Bonus Program! Beaudin Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and highly proactive Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer to support ground-up multifamily construction projects based out of Bend, Oregon. In this role, you will act as the communication and documentation hub for our construction teams, design partners, and subcontractors. This is a critical, high-impact support position. You will ensure every aspect of the project moves forward efficientlyeliminating bottlenecks, coordinating heavy documentation, and improving construction outcomes from start to finish. What You Will Be Doing You will be the vital link between the field and the office, handling the technical documentation and coordination that keeps our job sites moving: • Project Documentation & Control: Manage all project documents (drawings, RFIs, ASIs, submittals, specs, reports). Maintain strict version control and ensure field teams have the most updated documentation at all times., • Submittals & RFIs: Prepare, log, route, and meticulously track submittals. Draft and track RFIs, coordinate responses with the design team, and ensure their accurate implementation in the field., • Software Management: Track all correspondence and meticulously update project logs utilizing Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent software., • Schedule & Cost Support: Assist the Project Manager with milestone tracking, lookahead schedules, progress monitoring, change orders, procurement, and maintaining cost logs., • Subcontractor Coordination: Serve as a primary contact for subcontractors on technical coordination. Support scope reviews, track compliance documents (insurance, bonds, safety forms), and assist with vendor onboarding., • Field & Quality Support: Conduct active field walks to confirm installation accuracy and assist with layout questions. Track punch lists, mockups, inspection readiness, non-conformance reports, and coordinate third-party testing., • Safety & Permitting: Support project safety plan enforcement, participate in toolbox talks, and assist with permits and inspections (especially City of Portland or Oregon State agencies)., • Project Closeout: Help compile complex closeout documentation (O&Ms, warranties, as-builts), track the final punch list, and ensure a successful, seamless handoff to ownership. What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications) • Experience: 2+ years of proven experience in construction project engineering or project management support, preferably within ground-up multifamily or commercial construction., • Technical Software Skills: Strong, hands-on proficiency in construction document control, RFI/submittal processes, and Procore (or similar construction management software). Competence in the Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam is required (Familiarity with MS Project is a strong plus!), • Industry Knowledge: The proven ability to accurately read structural plans/specs and proactively identify design conflicts before they impact the field., • Communication: Excellent communication, technical writing, and coordination skills., • Physical Capabilities: The physical ability to actively walk jobsites, climb ladders/stairs, and lift 2550 lbs occasionally., • Licensure: A valid Drivers License is highly preferred, as travel to regional job sites will be required.
