Job DescriptionJob Title: Plant Maintenance Technician Job Description The Plant Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs a wide range of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, piping, refrigeration, and chemical systems across plant equipment and building facilities. This role performs detailed preventive maintenance, supports equipment moves and fabrication, and ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all production and facility systems. Responsibilities • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, piping, refrigeration, and chemical systems on plant equipment and building infrastructure., • Read, log, and monitor all meters on equipment to track performance and identify potential issues., • Perform and document preventive maintenance inspections and operations on meters, gauges, recorders, charts, filters, belts, grease fittings, quench oil levels, lubrication levels, thermocouple checks, furnace internals, furnace mechanisms, and safety devices., • Conduct regular maintenance tasks to ensure proper equipment performance and extend the working life of plant machinery and systems., • Install and move equipment systems using forklifts, hoists, and other material-handling tools., • Fabricate tanks, fixtures, conveyors, furnaces, and other equipment using welding equipment, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and other fabrication tools., • Lay out and install piping systems for equipment using pipe threading machines, silver solder, hand tools, lifting platforms, and related equipment., • Unload, transport, and store fabrication materials to designated locations using forklifts, hoists, hand trucks, and similar devices., • Install, repair, and replace fire brick as needed for furnaces and related equipment., • Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and air-operated problems to quickly identify root causes and implement effective repairs., • Maintain good housekeeping standards in the work area and actively promote 5S activities within the Maintenance shop., • Move office equipment and supplies to various office locations as required to support facility needs.Essential Skills, • Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance on industrial equipment and facility systems., • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with mechanical systems in a plant or industrial environment., • Proficiency with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair., • Proficiency with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair., • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical issues related to plant equipment and support systems., • Experience in maintenance technician roles, performing both corrective and preventive maintenance., • Ability to perform PLC troubleshooting to support equipment operation and minimize downtime., • Practical experience with piping installation and maintenance, including threaded and soldered connections., • Working knowledge of refrigeration systems and associated components., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics for fabrication and installation work.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience laying out and installing piping systems using pipe threading machines, silver solder, hand tools, and lifting platforms., • Background working with chemical systems associated with industrial equipment and processes., • Experience fabricating tanks, fixtures, conveyors, furnaces, and other equipment using welding and fabrication tools., • Ability to safely operate forklifts, hoists, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment., • Experience installing, repairing, and replacing fire brick in furnaces or high-temperature equipment., • Familiarity with 5S principles and maintaining organized, clean, and efficient workspaces., • Comfort working with meters, gauges, recorders, charts, filters, belts, grease fittings, quench oil levels, lubrication systems, and thermocouples., • Ability to move and set up office equipment and supplies throughout facility locations as needed.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an industrial plant environment, working directly with production equipment, piping systems, furnaces, conveyors, and related mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, refrigeration, and chemical systems. The position involves regular use of forklifts, hoists, hand trucks, welding and fabrication tools, pipe threading machines, silver solder, hand tools, and lifting platforms. Work includes both shop and floor settings, with an emphasis on safe operation of equipment and adherence to 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient maintenance area. The role is scheduled on second shift, typically from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and may require standing, walking, lifting, and working around heat-generating equipment and industrial machinery. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Louis, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $70720.00/yr.
