Job Description This is a remote position that may require periodic travel to events throughout the DMV. Reporting to the Director of Brand Experience, the Marketing & Communications Specialist will collaborate on the development and execution of strategic marketing, branding, and engagement initiatives, working across departments to connect resources, develop compelling content, maintain project plans, and manage campaign schedules. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with the Senior Producer and community hosts to develop content and conversations that reflect the diversity and culture of Greater Baltimore, • Book community hosts and guests, conduct research, pre-interviews, and co-write scripts, • Record and edit audio segments for radio broadcast and podcast platforms (long and short versions), • Assist in field reporting, audio gathering, and general show production, • Help maintain editorial calendars and manage production deadlines, • Maintain an active social media presence for the program (photo/short video/audio), • Collaborate across BPM departments including digital, marketing, and newsroom, • Actively support and apply DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) principles in all aspects of conduct, production, and editorial decision-making Qualifications • At least 3 years of experience in audio journalism, public radio, or podcast production, • Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and a solid sense of narrative journalism, • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, • Audio editing proficiency (Adobe Audition), • Demonstrated ability to elevate diverse voices and topics with nuance and sensitivity, • Demonstrated patience working with colleagues new to a process, • General awareness of local and regional news, • Familiarity with Greater Baltimores successes, challenges and communities is highly preferred, • Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative, in-person team, • Sense of humor Equal Opportunity & Organizational Commitment Baltimore Public Media is an Equal Opportunity Employer. What You'll Do: • Collaborate with marketing leadership to align company objectives and translate them into effective marketing campaigns., • Assist in developing, executing, and monitoring test plans to enhance customer engagement and retention across various channels including email marketing, retargeting, personalization, payment processing, dispute resolution, segmentation, and cross-functional collaboration., • Oversee outsourced Customer Care operations to ensure alignment with company customer service goals and compliance policies. Identify and establish processes that integrate effectively with tools and platforms., • Manage operations for Institutional subscriptions, including communicating with Sales Reps for Request for Proposals (RFPs), contract management, campaign setup, and renewal communications., • Work under guidance from marketing leadership to create personalized, omnichannel experiences aimed at driving valuable customer interactions., • Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in marketing, demonstrating a proven track record of growth and professional development., • Experience in digital customer lifecycle marketing environments is preferred. Preference given to candidates with experience in B2C and subscription-based industries., • Proficiency in communication and experience platforms such as Email, Web Analytics, on-site tools, and payment management, emphasizing personalization., • Strong execution skills, including segmentation, utilizing customer data platforms, campaign setup, and managing marketing operations., • Possesses a data-driven mindset, adept at collecting and synthesizing data, uncovering valuable insights, and delivering comprehensive reports and recommendations to senior leadership., • Excel proficiency is essential, and familiarity with HTML/CSS is a plus., • Experience collaborating closely with Customer Care teams.
