Job Description West Point Contractors currently has an immediate need for a Superintendent responsible for providing on-site functional supervision of our Wild Rivers Project in Taos County, NM. The ideal candidate will have experience with FDR, roahway rehabilitation, asphalt/aggregate testing, paving, culverts and traffic control. This position presents an excellent opportunity for a Superintendent with experience in federal government projects who is interested in transitioning into upcoming work on our FAA project in Palmdale, CA. Candidates will gain valuable exposure to federal processes, compliance requirements, and project execution standards that support long-term career growth within our federal portfolio. We are open to both short-term contract support for the Wild Rivers project, as well as long-term placement for candidates willing to travel and transition into future federal related work. What Makes West Point Unique? • Boutique-style firm where motivated individuals can advance quickly, • Highly competitive salaries, • Performance-based bonuses, • "Large company-style" comprehensive benefits + health package, • Health, dental, and vision insurance - 100% of premiums paid by the company for employees and dependents, • Additional benefits available (FSA, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, etc.), • 401(k) plan with matching program, • Paid vacation, sick, and family leave., • Flexible work schedule as position allows Superintendent Responsibilities • Supervise functional construction efforts to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule, • Ensure project is constructed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with design specifications while maintaining effective coordination and communication with project teams., • Plan, coordinate, supervise, and manage resources to meet project objectives, • Supervise and direct field supervisors and subcontractors to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance, • Assist project team in scheduling, developing, and implementing project procedures, working documents, and standards, • Interface with all on-site work teams (including subcontractors) to resolve problems, ensure quality, safety, and achieve schedules, • Review shop drawings and prepare submittals for conformance with project specifications; maintain accurate submittal register for each task order, • Coordinate, supervise, and manage on-site trades personnel and subcontractor work, • Assist team in compliance with OSHA regulations and corporate safety initiatives, • Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, • Experience working on federal projects required, • Must be able to obtain access to Federal Installations Education • High school diploma or equivalent required, • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred. Work Experience • 3+ years in construction management and/or craft supervision (e.g., Foreman) in similar construction fields, • 3+ years quality assurance and quality control experience in the field, • Experience in federal or public works projects - particularly FAA, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, • Experience with paving, asphalt, utilities, airfield facilities, or control tower-related infrastructure preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • FDR (full depth reclamation), roadway rehabilitation, asphalt /aggregate testing, paving, culverts, and traffic control experience., • Thorough knowledge of construction methods, equipment, materials, company policies, and procedures., • Experience managing projects ranging from $5M–$12M in a firm fixed-price environment, • OSHA 30-hour certification required, • Current CPR/First Aid certification, • USACE EM-385 Certified preferred, • Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills, • Proven time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work on multiple projects, • Flexible, self-motivated, and professional, • Meticulous with timely reports and meeting submission deadlines, • Experience using BuilderTrend software or similar construction management software Additional Information • Job Type: Full-time, • Salary: $115,000–$175,000, depending on experience, • Preference given to candidates residing in a HUBZone-designated area, • When applying, include a detailed listing of major federal projects-contractor, agency, contract amount, and work summary, • This is not a remote position; relocation assistance not anticipated. Successful candidates must be able to obtain clearance to Federal project sites. This includes, but is not limited to: Department of Defense (Air Force, Navy, Army), Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Veteran Affairs, United States Army Corp. of Engineers, Mission & Installation Contracting Command, Federal Bureau of Prisons. These clearances include entry level background checks can also include, fingerprinting, proof of citizenship, declaration for federal employment, tuberculosis testing, and credit checks. It is the responsibility of the employee to maintain the ability to obtain installation access, it is a condition of the position.
