Job Description Talent & Culture Manager Overview The Talent & Culture Manager is the primary owner of day-to-day Human Resources at StoreBound. This role is a hands-on, high-trust position responsible for full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, HR operations, benefits and payroll coordination, and culture initiatives. This is an individual contributor role that partners closely with leadership and operates with sound judgment, discretion, and independence. This role is ideal for a scrappy but trusted HR generalist who enjoys ownership, variety, and meaningful impact in a fast-moving environment. Recruitment & Workforce Planning • Lead full-cycle, compliant talent acquisition across all departments, including requisition creation, sourcing, application review, interview coordination, offer administration, onboarding, and early-stage retention, • Proactively source candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter and manage postings across LinkedIn, Indeed, and ZipRecruiter, • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, evaluate candidates, and support effective hiring decisions, • Conduct structured 30- and 90-day new-hire check-ins to support retention, engagement, and manager alignment, • Apply knowledge of labor market trends and salary benchmarks to inform hiring decisions Performance Management & Employee Development • Partner with leadership to administer mid-year and year-end performance review cycles, ensuring consistency, fairness, and alignment with company goals, • Support managers and employees with goal-setting, feedback processes, and development planning using ADP and BambooHR, • Research, coordinate, and track learning and development opportunities that support employee capability and organizational effectiveness, • Track completion of required and recommended trainings, including compliance-related training HR Operations & Administrative Governance • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records, including job changes, promotions, compensation updates, and employment documentation, • Own and maintain the company organizational chart to ensure accuracy and consistency, • Maintain, update, and enforce the employee handbook and HR policies to support legal compliance, risk mitigation, and operational clarity, • Stay current on employment law, HR best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying updates as needed, • Serve as backup support to the Office Coordinator as needed, without primary ownership of office operations or IT Employee Relations & Workplace Support • Serve as a trusted partner to leadership in addressing employee relations matters with consistency, discretion, and professionalism, • Apply sound judgment and emotional intelligence when navigating sensitive situations, balancing compliance with a positive employee experience, • Investigate, document, and resolve employee relations issues in a timely, fair, and measured manner, • Support disciplinary processes, investigations, terminations, and offboarding, including exit interviews and required documentation Benefits, Payroll & PEO Administration • Serve as the primary point of contact for the company’s PEO, ADP WorkforceNow, • Act as liaison between employees, leadership, Finance, and the PEO to resolve benefits, payroll, employee records, and 401(k) matters, • Support the CFO in the accurate and timely execution of semi-monthly payroll in accordance with established controls, • Administer and track Leave of Absence requests, including FMLA and applicable state leave programs, ensuring compliance and system accuracy, • Maintain strong working knowledge of payroll operations, benefits administration, leave regulations, and the PEO relationship Culture, Engagement & Employee Experience • Plan and execute quarterly, company-wide engagement initiatives that reinforce company values and employee connection, • Coordinate monthly all-hands meetings, including scheduling, preparation, and logistics, • Oversee employee recognition efforts, including birthdays and work anniversaries, • Lead “Dash of Good” volunteer initiatives, including identifying opportunities, promoting participation, and managing donation requests Qualifications & Experience • 3 to 5 years of human resources experience, preferably in a generalist role, • Experience managing full-cycle recruiting using ATS and sourcing platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and ZipRecruiter, • Experience working with HRIS and HCM systems; ADP WorkforceNow and BambooHR experience preferred, • Strong knowledge of employee relations, HR compliance, payroll-adjacent processes, and benefits administration, • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage confidential information, and navigate sensitive situations professionally, • Excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills, • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, with in-office presence required on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and additional days as business needs warrant
