Belkin Burden Goldman, LLP, a premier New York City real estate law firm located near Grand Central Terminal, is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our administrative support team. \n \n We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with prior law firm experience who is comfortable supporting multiple attorneys and performing traditional legal secretarial and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. \n \n PLEASE NOTE BEFORE APPLYING: \n \n This is a traditional Legal Secretary position, not a Paralegal or Legal Assistant position. The role does not involve independently managing a caseload. Candidates should be interested in a legal administrative support role involving attorney support, document production, proofreading, calendaring, workflow coordination, and reception coverage. \n \n We are seeking candidates with demonstrated, sustained law firm experience and a genuine interest in continuing their career in legal secretarial and administrative support. Candidates should have at least three years of professional legal secretarial or legal administrative experience within a law firm setting. \n \n ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: \n\n • Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys and practice groups.\n, • Provide reception and front desk coverage, including answering and routing incoming calls, greeting clients and visitors, documenting messages, and ensuring prompt follow-up by the appropriate personnel.\n, • Maintain consistent reception desk coverage and assist with general front-office operations.\n, • Draft, revise, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, notices, agreements, and other legal materials.\n, • Prepare and distribute documents through email, electronic filing systems, mail, messenger services, Federal Express, and other delivery methods.\n, • Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, appointments, and contact information as needed.\n, • Organize and maintain electronic documents and correspondence within iManage and other document management systems.\n, • Assist with document production, scanning, copying, collating, assembly, and distribution of legal materials.\n, • Schedule conference rooms, assist with visitor management, and provide general administrative support.\n, • Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, courts, governmental agencies, vendors, and other outside parties.\n, • Coordinate with other members of the administrative support team to maintain workflow and departmental coverage.\n, • Adhere to Firm policies, procedures, confidentiality requirements, and document-management practices.\n, • Perform additional administrative and legal support responsibilities as assigned.\n\n \n KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: \n\n • 3+ years of legal secretarial, legal administrative, or comparable law firm support experience required.\n, • Prior law firm experience supporting attorneys required.\n, • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple attorneys and managing competing priorities simultaneously.\n, • Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including document formatting, tracked changes, styles, automatic numbering, and document organization.\n, • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.\n, • Excellent proofreading, grammar, written communication, and organizational skills.\n, • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.\n, • Strong administrative, technical, organizational, and time-management skills.\n, • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\n, • Dependable, collaborative, responsive, and professional.\n, • Ability to work full-time, on-site five days per week at the Firm's Midtown Manhattan office.\n, • Willingness to provide reception/front desk coverage as a regular component of the position.\n\n \n PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: \n\n • New York real estate, landlord-tenant, litigation, leasing, financing, or development law firm experience.\n, • Experience with iManage or a comparable document management system.\n, • Familiarity with New York courts, governmental agencies, electronic filing procedures, or DHCR.\n, • Experience preparing or editing Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities.\n, • Experience with document comparisons, redlines, blacklines, and tracked changes.\n, • Experience hyperlinking exhibits and preparing electronic court filings.\n, • Experience with DocuSign and electronic signature workflows.\n, • Experience preparing and assembling filing or service packages.\n, • Notary Public commission.\n\n \n SCHEDULE: \n This is a full-time, on-site position at our Midtown Manhattan office.
