Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Cath Lab Technologist, • Discipline: Allied Health Professional, • Start Date: 06/08/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 5x8hrs, • Hours: 40 hrs/wk, • Start Date: Jun 8, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Work in a 5-room Interventional Platform at a 255-bed Level II Trauma Center with Magnet designation, Primary Stroke Center status, and a Level 2E SCN, • Unit includes 2 Cath Labs, 1 EP Room, 1 Hybrid Room, and 1 IR Room, • Adult inpatient and outpatient population; intra-procedural care only — no pre/post care responsibilities, • Cath Lab procedures include diagnostic and interventional heart caths, right heart cath, Impella, balloon pump, thrombectomies, STEMI/MI, CTOs, and PFO closure, • EP procedures include temporary and permanent pacemakers, ablations, and MitraClip, • Hybrid procedures include AAA repair, Watchman, TAVR, and carotids, • IR procedures include peripheral diagnostic and intervention, thrombolysis (EKOS), chest tubes, kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, paracentesis/thoracentesis, CT/RFA ablations, G-tube placement and exchanges, PICC placement, tunneled catheter placements, nephrostomy tubes, dialysis grafts, and drain placements, • 1:1 patient ratio, • Charting systems include Epic, Merge Hemodynamic, and GE Cardio (EP); Siemens equipment used, • 8-hour day shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, • On-call begins at 4:30 PM and runs through 8:00 AM on weekdays; weekend call runs from Friday 4:00 PM through Monday 8:00 AM, • Approximately 10–11 call shifts per month, including 2 weekends per month, • 30-minute response time required for call, • May float to IR or Cath Lab depending on skillset and position modalityRequirements, • Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience or 2 years of IR experience depending on position modality; most recent experience must be within the last year, • RT certifications required: ARRT, IEMA (Illinois state license), BLS, and ACLS, • RN certifications required: BLS and ACLS, • License required if applicable, • Proficiency in scrubbing and panning simultaneously, Impella, balloon pump, and hemodynamic monitoring (RT), • RN skills required include circulating, sedation, cardiac rhythm interpretation, Impella, and balloon pump, • Cross-training to both Cath Lab and IR modalities is preferred; Hybrid, EP, and IR experience preferred but not required, • Epic EMR experience required, • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position, • Former employees of Advocate Health or any subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible, • 1 professional reference required, dated within the last year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, • Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration, • Candidate middle name or initial required for consideration, • COVID vaccine requiredAdditional Information, • RT support is available 24/7; hospitalist available 24/7; cardiologist on-site during the day and on call at night, • A charge nurse is present and may assist with breaks or fill in as needed, but does not typically take a patient assignment, • RRT/Code Team responds to codes in the lab, • Three-person call team consists of 1 nurse, 1 tech, and 1 nurse or tech; no sleep rooms available on-site, • 12 hours of facility and unit orientation provided, • Holidays are call-only; candidates should expect 1–2 holiday call shifts per contract, • Time off requests must be approved by the manager, • Local candidates accepted, • Procedural scrubs are provided With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
