Lead UX Architect Reports to: Chief Product Officer Employment Type:Full Time Work LocationThis role is fully remote and open to candidates across all 50 U.S. states. If you're located in the Greater Denver, Colorado area, youll also have optional access to our office in the Denver Tech Center (DTC). We are seeking a visionary, hands-on Lead UX Architect to define and drive the user experience architecture and design system for our platform. This role is responsible for creating a modular, extensible, and high-performance design system that supports both end-user experiences and internal tools (such as Agent Studio). The Lead UX Architect will collaborate closely with clients, engineering, product, and AI teams to ensure the design system enables discoverability, feedback, analytics, and rapid iteration, while supporting complex agent workflows, orchestration, and runtime/design time interactions. Key Responsibilities • Define and own the UX architecture and design system strategy for the platform, ensuring modularity, extensibility, and performance, • Focus on understanding user objectives across the journey and champion the adoption of the most delightful tools and processes to support and enhance their experience, • Architect and deliver a design system that supports both end-user and internal tool experiences, including Agent Studio and orchestration interfaces, • Champion user-centered design principles, progressive disclosure, and clear communication of system state, changes, and feedback, • Ensure the design system enables discoverability, registry, and efficient use of tools, models, and resources, • Collaborate with engineering, product, and AI teams to support agent workflows, orchestration, and multi-layered memory/feedback loops, • Design for rapid iteration, experimentation, and adaptability in the face of uncertainty and evolving requirements, • Prioritize fast, responsive interfaces and leverage techniques like progressive rendering to meet user expectations for performance, • Support change management, access controls, and real-time feedback in a distributed, machine-to-machine environment, • Lead the creation of UX patterns and components that enable generalists and specialists to be productive, • Mentor and guide designers and engineers in UX best practices, design system adoption, and cross-functional collaboration, • Advocate for accessibility, usability, and inclusive design across all experiences, • Lead and manage a Product Advisory Council to identify and engage key customers for prototype and product feedback Client Facing Responsibilities • Facilitate client-facing discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews to identify optimization opportunities in customer experiences with new AI systems, • Gather and synthesize insights on critical user behaviors, workflows, and pain points to inform UX architecture and design decisions, • Translate discovery findings into actionable design opportunities that guide platform architecture and user interfaces, • Partner with AI advisors and product managers to ensure alignment between customer value, user experience, and business outcomes, • Advocate for customer-centric design approaches that balance innovation with usability and deliver delightful, high-impact experiences, • Maintain strong communication loops between clients, design, product, and AI teams to drive adoption, satisfaction, and long-term success Core Qualities & Skills • Proven experience leading UX architecture and design system initiatives for complex, cross-functional platforms, • Deep expertise in user-centered design, information architecture, and interaction design, • Experience designing for both end-user and internal tool/workflow experiences, • Strong understanding of modular design systems, component libraries, and design tokens, • Experience with performance optimization, progressive rendering, and responsive design, • Ability to design for discoverability, feedback, analytics, and change management, • Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills, • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, adapt to rapid change, and support experimentation and learning, • Strong mentoring and leadership abilities, • Experience with social media and community comms to gather feedback and engage with the broader UX/design/tech community Preferred Qualifications • 8+ years of experience in UX architecture, design systems, or related roles, with 2+ years in a leadership capacity, • Experience delivering design systems for platforms with agentic, AI, or orchestration workflows, • Experience working with distributed, multidisciplinary teams, • Experience with accessibility, usability testing, and data-driven design decisions, • Experience in fast-paced, startup or scale-up environments Highly Desirable • Experience with design systems for developer tools, internal platforms, or AI/ML products, • Experience supporting both technical and non-technical users, • Experience with analytics, observability, and feedback mechanisms in UX, • Experience leading or working with remote and hybrid teams Success Metrics • Adoption and satisfaction with the design system across teams, • Usability, accessibility, and performance of delivered experiences, • Efficiency of UX iteration cycles (minimizing back-and-forth with engineering through effective prototyping and community feedback), • Discoverability and effective use of tools, models, and resources, • Team growth, engagement, and cross-functional collaboration, • Stakeholder and user feedback on UX architecture and design system, • ESAT (Employee Satisfaction), CSAT (Customer Satisfaction), and NPS (Net Promoter Score) for measuring internal and external satisfaction and advocacy Employee Benefits at Gradera At Gradera, were committed to supporting our team. Compensation: The final salary for this role will be determined based on a combination of factors including relevant experience, performance during interviews, and results from applicable assessments.
