Job DescriptionPosition: Development Manager, Fundraising EventsEmployment Type: Full Time ExemptLocation: Mission Twin Cities Office (Downtown St. Paul)Reports to: Director of AdvancementStarting Salary: $67,000 Mission Genesys Works is a nonprofit organization that trains and employs high school and college aged students to perform professional services for major corporations. Purpose of Position Genesys Works Twin Cities seeks a mission-driven individual to conceptualize and build a robust fundraising events and volunteer program. In addition to all logistic and event planning for the specific events and volunteer programs, this individual will support other development team members at peak times of the year. Key Responsibilities Fundraising Events (40%): • Set vision, strategies, plan, execute, and monitor all GWTC fundraising events, such as the annual fundraising events (i.e., Tee Time with Tech Exec, CIO Luncheon) and support other large events (i.e. Draft Day)., • Overseeing all event logistics: ? Venue logistics (securing venue with contract negotiation, food, drinks, date, and time) • Logistic coordination of all tasks and responsibilities pre-event and day of event., • Post event logistics (thank you notes, evaluating the event’s success, and reporting outcomes., • All communications to appropriate parties for all events • Serve as a resource and partner for other donor stewardship and cultivation events (i.e., Summer Training in Action, CCC Con, etc.)., • In partnership with the Director of Advancement, develop and track event budgets and timelines, research and select event vendors, and manage event staffing and volunteer logistics and training., • Create and manage all Salesforce opportunity records, case notes, and GiveSmart campaigns from event registrations, donations, and sponsorships., • Create key deliverables and proactively monitor event plans to ensure progress toward achieving key goals, milestones, and timelines. Sponsorships and Donor Relations (25%): • Strategically plan, set vision, analyze, develop, execute, and monitor annual sponsorship plans to harness and grow vendors/businesses sponsorships program while maintaining and developing key relationships., • Partner with Corporate Partnership Team to support activities needed to secure Corporate Sponsorship for events., • In collaboration with the Director of Advancement and other organization leaders, conduct annual events, sponsorship outreach, and meetings with key contacts to secure signature fundraising events and program-specific event sponsorships from businesses, vendors, foundations, and individuals., • Track sponsorship portfolio activity, maintain records, create invoices, track payment, ensure sponsorship fulfillment, and generate reports as required via Salesforce and other systems., • Create the annual sponsorship packet and special event collateral, including social media to expand outreach to key stakeholders, • Prospect, research, attend external technology and community-centered events, and conduct introduction meetings to expand potential events and sponsorship outreach Volunteer Management (15%) • Create, lead, and managed volunteer program, set rollout program process • Includes creation of appropriate forms, documents, policies and handbooks • Lead administrator for solicitation and tracking of volunteers., • Serve as main contact for volunteer updates on Genesys Works website. Other Philanthropic Support (10%) • Commitment to database use, management, maintenance, and reporting., • In collaboration with the Development Team, assist with individual giving campaigns, donor prospecting, data analysis, and reporting (such as GiveSmart donation pages, Salesforce Campaigns, Account Engagement, etc.)., • Collaborate with and serve as a liaison to the Genesys Works National Development team to ensure accurate gift processing and gift acknowledgment in a timely manner, • Support other org-wide operational goals and initiatives as needed Other duties as assigned (10%) • Advancement office support when needed, • Support programmatic events during peak activity time (E.g., interviewing candidates, Get Ready Week, etc), • Participate in cross-organizational committees, as appropriate, to support internal culture or external relationships Qualifications We seek an individual who believes deeply in our organization’s mission, who thrives in a dynamic work environment, who can produce consistent, impactful, and timely service, and who is able to work both independently and collaboratively. More specifically, qualifications include: • Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, 5 years of development and event experience are required., • At least 5 years of professional experience in a nonprofit organization with demonstrated success as a development and events leader., • Direct experience in cultivation and solicitation of individual donors., • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute fundraising plans and strategies that generate significant results with a proven track record cultivating, stewarding, and moving individual gifts to higher levels of support., • Can work independently on a team, and cross-functionally., • Ability to think strategically and build successful fundraising strategies for growth., • Strong project management competencies, including organizational and problem-solving skills, strong skills in time management, and attention to detail., • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate a strong and compelling case for support., • Self-driven, can work well independently on a team, and cross-functionally., • Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to flex and adapt as the situation requires., • Driver's license is strongly encouraged with the ability to travel throughout the Twin Cities metro area, including locations inaccessible by public transit., • Alignment with Genesys Works values and excitement for the mission., • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and experience working work with individuals from diverse backgrounds., • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Compensation and How to Apply Starting annual salary for this position is $67,000. As an organization we value pay equity transparency for candidates and current Genesys Works staff. We offer market-based salaries that are based on local data. Comprehensive benefits package includes health coverage, paid time off, and (10) company holidays; a 403(b) retirement plan with company match; validated parking near the Genesys Works office in downtown St. Paul, and a communication allowance. Genesys Works utilizes a hybrid structure, with an expectation that employees work both remotely and in-person at our downtown St. Paul office.
