Job DescriptionSalary: The Weitz Company is seeking a VDC Manager to be located on a data center project in Milwaukee, WI. The VDC Manager is responsible for various functions on a construction project related to the design, management, and implementation of VDC systems, including modeling coordination and reality capture technologies. This role streamlines workflows amongst project teams and enhances VDC utilization on assigned project(s). The VDC Manager typically reports to the Business Unit VDC Manager or VDC Director. What You'll Do: • Application of VDC technologies onsite with project teams, • Provide technological expertise on project sites for; drones, robotics, laser scanning, reality capture., • Leverage 3D, 4D and 5D digital content and assets to assist in the design, management and implementation of VDC systems, • Ensure workflows are streamlined between all departments (i.e. preconstruction, field operations) involved in a project, • Collaborate with the learning and development team to lead VDC training sessions, • Test, plan and direct implementation of new software and hardware as approved by VDC leader; coordinate with stakeholders if needed, • Produce VDC estimates and cost analysis, as requested, • Propose improvement areas to support companywide strategic initiatives to VDC leader for review and implementation, • Ensure VDC standards and best practices are maintained in accordance with industry knowledge; manage updates as needed, • Analyze metrics to identify areas for improvement; propose solutions, • Participate in vendor, supplier and service provider negotiations, • Bolster the Company's reputation as an industry leader in operational excellence, innovative problem solving and continuous improvement in project delivery, • Participate in marketing and business development initiatives; promote VDC capabilities within the industry, • Present VDC capabilities to owners, architects, project teams, as requested, • Keep abreast of the latest software and technology; identify areas for improvement, • Mentor team members, including delegation of tasks/responsibilities for development; recommend disciplinary action when necessary, • Perform other duties as assigned, • Manage models:, • Maintain site models and logistic plans, • Handle RFIs & A/E design changes/updates., • Track, evaluate, and help develop Trade/Construction models., • Maintain consolidated Coordination models., • Compile final As-Built models., • Manage and perform VDC technology responsibilities that may include but are not limited to, • Weekly drone flights and data processing, • Laser scanning and reality capture, • Robotic systems for layout, • Reality capture production programs, • Daily/Weekly QA walks comparing Model to actual build conditions., • Log deviations, • Coordinate model updates with trades, • Work with project team on changes that must be reflected in model., • Perform Project engineering duties such as submittals and trade management as directed., • Perform other duties as assigned What We're Looking For: • Education:An industry related bachelor's degree is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered., • Experience:A minimum of five (5) years of architectural services, construction or manufacturing experience is required, including at least two (2) years of VDC/BIM management. LEAN principles experience is desirable. OSHA 10 or 30 preferred, or the willingness to obtain upon hire., • Technology:Proficiency in basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Outlook. Employee should be proficient in Autodesk software programs (Revit AutoCAD and Navisworks) and have a general understanding of VDC software (Sketchup, Fuzor, Infraworks, Adobe Suite), systems and hardware, and the ability to learn other specific software (JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling software, etc.)., • Skills: A qualified candidate will demonstrate initiative, independent judgment, project management and analytical skills. They should also show leadership, business acumen, client relation and decision making abilities., • Experience with Drones (FAA Part 107 Certificate), LiDAR scanning, reality capture and processing of the data from these systems and experience with utilization of data is preferred. The Quality Control Manager is responsible for providing direction and leadership on Mission Critical/Data Center projects. The role includes managing the commissioning process from level 1 through level 5, leading the turnover of a fully commissioned data center to our customer.The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of the project Quality Control Program. Participate in weekly subcontractor meeting with project team., • Implement methods for monitoring work activities such as three phases of control and daily progress reports to accurately inform project manager and/or project superintendent of current status of work activity., • Coordinate and participate in pre-installation conferences with subcontractors., • Coordinate, through intermediate QC personnel, follow-up inspections., • Document all quality inspections and pre-installation meetings., • Manage and coordinate QC Specialists, Testing Laboratory personnel, and any other inspection and testing personnel., • Review submittals for accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications., • Ensure that shop drawing and submittal review and approval process is effective and efficient., • Communicate with owner, project manager, superintendent, and subcontractors to collect quality information for improvement and/or quality concerns. (EUA) is seeking a Project Architect to become part of our Advanced Manufacturing + Industrial studio, which may also include projects in the Aerospace & Technology markets. Candidates should be a Licensed Architect (or equivalent experience) with experience in workplace or interior architecture related projects. The Project Architect is responsible for most phases in the technical development of a project. They will work under the direction of a Project Manager and they will independently evaluate, select, and apply architectural techniques, procedures, and criteria; use judgment in assignments that have clear and specified objectives with a limited number of variables; will write reports and specification sections; review submittals and observe architectural features in the field; assists in the coordination of consultants. • Licensed Architect or equivalent experience, • Works hand-in-hand with the project team and assists in delegation of tasks, • Assists project manager with identified tasks and functions, • Leads the team in architectural techniques and procedures, • Highly knowledgeable in the techniques and applications of BIM, • Involved in a variety of project responsibilities, including documentation and detailing, • Self-directs project work and tasks, proactive engagement, • Helps assemble energy and sustainability strategies, • Assists with specification preparation and/or writes specifications, • Performs and reviews QA/QC processes, • Reviews submittals, RFIs, pay apps, etc. and is responsible for on-site construction observation, • Supports the consultants and coordinates their work, • Participates in owner and contractor conversations on a regular basis, • Bachelors Degree in Architecture, • Proficiency in Revit preferred, • Use of BIM software and Visualization methods is essential, • 2+ years of architectural experience, • Annual base compensation for this role is $65,000 - $95,000 based on skills and experience
