Job Description Job Title: Electromechanical Technician Location: Cambridge, MA Shift: 1st Shift Pay: $23 – $30 per hour (depending on experience) Adecco is working with a cutting-edge scientific technology company in Cambridge, MA seeking a Contract Electromechanical Technician to join their Hardware & Controls Engineering team. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who thrives in a fast-paced R&D environment, supporting the build, assembly, and troubleshooting of advanced automated systems and experimental equipment. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity on 1st shift. Key Responsibilities • Assemble, install, and calibrate custom electromechanical equipment using CAD models, blueprints, and schematics, • Support rapid prototyping efforts including building test fixtures and experimental setups, • Perform electrical wiring, cable routing, and component installation (sensors, actuators, control systems), • Assist with integration, system bring-up, and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, • Conduct maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on complex automated equipment, • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to identify design improvements and resolve technical issues, • Maintain accurate documentation for builds, repairs, and troubleshooting activities, • Associate’s degree in electromechanical technology, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, or related field (or equivalent experience/training), • Strong mechanical assembly and electrical troubleshooting skills, • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics, • Experience using hand tools, measuring equipment, and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters), • Familiarity with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff) and industrial automation components, • Experience working with pneumatic, electrical, or fluid systems, • Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, LOTO, electrical code), • Experience in automation, robotics, manufacturing, or R&D environments (4+ years preferred), • Hands-on experience with prototyping and interdisciplinary engineering teams, • CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred), • Experience with AutoCAD or electrical schematic tools, • Experience building control panels or wiring PLC systems, • Familiarity with CMMS, ERP systems, or digital documentation tools, • Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, CMRT, or PLC programming, • Experience in cleanroom, laboratory, or regulated environments Pay Details: $23.00 to $30.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
