This position is ideal for those who thrive in a fast-paced, acute care environment and are committed to delivering top-notch patient care. Schedule: • 36 hours per week, • Weekend availability required: Options for scheduling include Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Key Responsibilities: • Provide skilled nursing care to critically ill patients in various intensive care units (ICU) including Neuro ICU, Trauma Surgical ICU, Cardiovascular Surgery, and Cardiac Care Units., • Float across all designated units caring for patients with diverse medical needs and varying acuity levels., • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care., • Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate interventions as needed., • Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 2:1 in critical care settings, adapting to changes based on patient acuity. Unit Information: • Neuro ICU (16 beds): Focus on stroke care, post-neuro interventions, and neurosurgery patients., • Trauma Surgical ICU (24 beds): Specializes in Level 1 Trauma surgical and interventional care., • Cardiovascular Surgery ICU (30 beds): Provides care for patients undergoing open-heart surgery and other cardiovascular interventions., • Cardiac Care Unit (13 beds): Offers specialized care for cardiac medical patients and those post-cardiac catheterization. Qualifications: • A minimum of 3 years of critical care experience in a Level 1 trauma center is required., • Active New Jersey RN license is mandatory., • Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and External Ventricular Drains (EVD) is required., • Preferred experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Impella devices., • Ability to adapt and float to all comparable units, demonstrating versatility and clinical proficiency. Orientation: • Candidates will undergo a 3-day classroom orientation with no on-unit orientation.
