Job Description SVS Group currently has a full time temporary opportunity for a Maintenance Technician in the Mesa AZ area. This will be a 2-4 week temp assignment. 1st shift full time. The Maintenance Technician is a critical member of the Maintenance team supporting our chemical blending and polyol manufacturing operations, warehouse, R&D facility, and corporate office. This hands-on role provides multi-shift support in a PSM-covered chemical manufacturing environment. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who thrives on diagnosing and solving complex problems with minimal supervision, takes ownership of issues, and consistently delivers safe, high-quality results. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, resourceful, and passionate about keeping equipment running safely and efficiently to exceed production and quality goals. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a wide variety of equipment and systems including structures, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, pumps, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, forklifts, and auxiliary process equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following; other duties may be assigned: · Maintain a “Safety First” mindset at all times and strictly follow OSHA, PSM, and company safety policies and procedures (including LOTO, ARC Flash, proper PPE, and confined space entry). · Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facilities to ensure safe, reliable operation. · Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems on pumps, motors, gearboxes, evaporative coolers, HVAC systems, forklifts, and process equipment using blueprints, manuals, vendor support, and troubleshooting skills. · Repair or replace wiring, electrical components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and auxiliary equipment. · Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and other lifting equipment. · Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and work completed in the maintenance system. · Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and compliant with housekeeping standards. · Communicate effectively with oncoming shifts, production teams, R&D, and supervisors regarding equipment status and corrective actions. · Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, production, and employee relations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill, and/or ability required. · High School diploma or GED required. · Minimum of 5 years of related maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (chemical manufacturing or blending experience strongly preferred). · Journeyman, Apprentice, or vocational training in a maintenance-related field is preferred. · Strong mechanical aptitude and proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently with minimal supervision. · Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with hands-on experience in fabrication, welding, and electrical controls preferred. · Experience working in an OSHA PSM and EPA RMP covered process is strongly preferred. · Experience in ISO 9001, Lean, or continuous improvement environments is a plus. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn maintenance software systems. · Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to interface professionally with technical and non-technical team members at all levels. · Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain one). · Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and deliver solutions under pressure. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. · While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs/ladders, and work in confined spaces. The employee must frequently work outdoors in all seasons typical of Mesa, Arizona (including extreme heat). The employee may be required to wear a respirator and must be able to be fitted for one. · The employee is expected to safely and precisely operate a forklift and other powered industrial equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. · This role involves exposure to hazardous materials and requires strict adherence to all environmental, safety, and health policies, procedures, and regulations.
