Job DescriptionJob Title: Shipping Coordinator / Material Handler Job Description The Shipping Coordinator / Material Handler receives and processes customer orders, prepares and ships products, and maintains accurate inventory and shipping records. This role supports a highly regulated manufacturing environment by ensuring shipments comply with procedures and regulations, while providing professional service to internal and external customers. Responsibilities • Receive customer orders by mail or telephone, assign sales order numbers, enter orders into the computer-based order entry system, and generate all required shipping documents., • Assemble, package, and ship standing and open orders in full compliance with government regulations, established procedures, and commercial carrier instructions., • Issue invoices accurately and in a timely manner for shipped orders., • Maintain inventory of finished goods, supplies, and shipping materials, ensuring stock levels support production and shipping needs., • Perform and reconcile periodic inventory audits and cycle counts with system records, maintaining at least 95% inventory accuracy., • Provide management with stock status updates and other inventory or shipping reports as requested., • Maintain up-to-date and accurate customer account records, including shipping addresses, billing details, pricing, shipping schedules, special handling instructions, and contact information., • Deliver professional customer service to customers and prospective customers regarding orders, stock status, shipping and delivery, pricing, and general inquiries, and work to resolve issues in a timely manner., • Refer product complaints promptly to the appropriate personnel responsible for complaint handling and follow established procedures., • Serve as a backup to the Receiving Department when additional support is needed, assisting with receiving and related tasks., • Keep finished goods inventory and shipping areas clean, organized, and compliant with applicable regulations and company policies., • Handle products using lot and serial numbers, ensuring accurate tracking of lots and expiration dates in all shipping and inventory activities., • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently as part of daily material handling duties., • Perform accurate data entry to update inventory systems and maintain traceable documentation for all shipping and inventory transactions.Essential Skills, • Hands-on warehouse and material handling experience, including shipping and inventory activities., • Proficiency with UPS and FedEx shipping processes and systems., • Strong knowledge of lot numbers and expiration date tracking and their use in shipping and inventory control., • Experience working with lot and serial numbers in a highly regulated environment., • Inventory management and cycle counting experience, with a focus on maintaining high accuracy., • Good computer skills, including accurate data entry to update inventory and order entry systems., • Strong documentation skills, with the ability to complete and maintain clear, accurate records., • Good written and verbal communication skills and professional customer service skills., • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, repetitive work environment., • Ability to stand and be on feet for an 8-hour shift., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally., • Ability to wear gloves throughout the shift (non-latex gloves can be provided as needed).Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in highly regulated industries such as medical device, pharmaceutical, or aerospace is highly preferred., • Familiarity with shipping in a clean manufacturing environment., • Comfort working with detailed procedures and regulatory requirements., • Ability to move products into and out of frozen storage areas for short periods as needed.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role operates in a very clean, climate-controlled manufacturing and distribution environment focused on molecular diagnostic products. The work involves regular use of computers and inventory systems for data entry and order processing, as well as typical warehouse equipment for loading, unloading, and material handling. The position is primarily on your feet for an 8-hour shift in a fast-paced, repetitive setting. There is occasional work in a frozen storage area at approximately -22 degrees to move products in or out; these tasks are brief, typically 1–2 minutes at a time, and a jacket is provided. Gloves must be worn throughout the shift, with non-latex options available. The finished goods and shipping areas are maintained in a clean, orderly condition and operate under strict regulatory and company procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Cypress, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
