Job DescriptionJob Title: Janitorial Worker – 2nd Shift (Environmental Services Attendant)Job Description This role provides high-quality cleaning and environmental services within a hospital setting to ensure a safe, hygienic, and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will work on the 2nd shift as part of a dedicated environmental services team, using proper cleaning techniques and equipment to maintain cleanliness across a variety of areas in a modern healthcare facility. Responsibilities • Clean offices, patient and resident rooms, dorms, classrooms, schools, common areas, lavatories, halls, food service areas, and any other areas that require attention., • Sweep, mop, scrub, and polish floors, and vacuum hallways, stairs, and office spaces., • Perform hard-surface floor scrubbing, stripping, and refinishing, as well as carpet spotting and extraction using mechanical equipment when needed., • Participate in the maintenance of wood floors, including cleaning, screening, stripping, sanding, and refinishing in areas such as gymnasiums or dance studios, as applicable., • Clean light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows, and window coverings to maintain a sanitary and pleasant environment., • Use cleaning chemicals properly and safely according to manufacturer instructions and established standards., • Empty trash and garbage containers and ensure waste is handled and removed in a safe and sanitary manner., • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and materials to ensure areas are adequately equipped., • Change sheets and replenish linens when required., • Perform routine equipment maintenance and make minor repairs as needed to keep cleaning tools and machinery in good working order., • Drive a golf cart or other facility vehicles when necessary to transport supplies or equipment., • Move furniture and set up tables and chairs for events, meetings, or room reconfigurations., • Notify the supervisor about any maintenance needs, repairs, or additions observed during daily work., • Comply with all safety and risk management policies and procedures established for the facility., • Report all accidents and injuries promptly and accurately., • Participate in regular safety meetings, safety training sessions, and hazard assessments., • Apply all applicable OSHA and local safety requirements to all assigned work to maintain a safe work environment.Essential Skills, • Experience in cleaning, janitorial, or custodial work in environments such as hospitals, hospitality, or similar facilities., • Ability to perform sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, vacuuming, and general floor care tasks., • Capability to use mechanical cleaning equipment for hard-surface floor care and carpet cleaning., • Understanding of proper and safe use of cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer guidelines., • Ability to follow safety and risk management procedures, including OSHA and local safety requirements., • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, move furniture, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and sanitary environment., • Reliable work habits and ability to follow instructions and report issues promptly.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Background in roles such as waitress, server, bartender, home health aide, janitor, or custodian, demonstrating customer service and care-oriented experience., • Comfort working in a hospital or healthcare environment., • Ability to drive small facility vehicles, such as a golf cart, if needed., • Willingness to learn and follow established cleaning standards and procedures., • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team in a service-focused environment.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a hospital setting, focusing on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in patient care areas, offices, common spaces, and support areas. The schedule follows a 2nd shift, typically from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with flexibility required to work evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business needs dictate. The role involves regular use of cleaning chemicals and mechanical cleaning equipment, as well as physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, and moving furniture. The dress code includes black pants (no denim, sweatpants, yoga pants, or spandex), black slip-resistant shoes, and black socks; hair must be of a natural color. A uniform shirt is provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Lancaster, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.19 - $18.19/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
