Principal Designer / CDM Advisor Sector: Property & Construction Location: Leeds (Hybrid) Salary: £70,000 + car allowance (circa £4,500) + comprehensive benefits package Carriera Limited is proud to once again partner with one of our long-standing clients, who are seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Designer / CDM Advisor to join their Leeds office. Our client is one of the UK's leading property and construction consultancies, with a proud history spanning over 75 years. Employing more than 1,000 construction professionals across 13 UK offices, the business is recognised for delivering high-quality consultancy services across a diverse range of sectors. The consultancy is currently experiencing an exciting phase of growth and is looking to strengthen its health and safety team with a capable professional who can contribute across a varied project portfolio. Projects range from large-scale industrial and commercial developments to bespoke schemes for prestigious clients including motor manufacturers, educational institutions, healthcare providers, contractors, and developers. Candidates with experience delivering CDM and Health & Safety advice within a consultancy environment-or those coming from a main contractor background-are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities • Ensure compliance with the CDM Regulations 2015 across projects in multiple sectors., • Act as CDM Advisor to clients, supporting them in fulfilling their statutory duties and implementing effective health and safety management systems., • Prepare and submit F10 notifications to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)., • Attend design team meetings, review designs and strategies, and provide competent advice on health and safety legislation., • Produce and maintain Design Risk Registers., • Collate Pre-Construction Information and prepare summary reports for project teams., • Lead and facilitate design risk management discussions and workshops., • Undertake site visits and inspections, identifying risks and reporting findings to clients., • Work collaboratively with Principal Contractors to promote positive safety culture and compliance., • Review project and client information proactively to identify risk trends., • Prepare clear written reports for clients and wider project teams., • Undertake accident investigations and assist with the development of H&S policies and procedures. Experience & Skills Required • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate., • Membership of IOSH., • Membership of IMaPS or CMaPS (desirable)., • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and lead projects effectively., • Excellent working knowledge of CDM Regulations and wider health and safety legislation.
