Job Description Job Title: Fundraising and Events Manager Salary: £42.5K full-time equivalent plus 2% of new project funding Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer but will also be a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Responsible for: One direct report – Marketing and Events Co-ordinator as well as volunteers. Location: Notts County Foundation Office, Meadow Lane Stadium / Hybrid (as applicable) Document Created: December 2025 Contract: Permanent part-time 4 days per week. Overview of the Role Want to make a positive difference to some of the most marginalised communities in society? This exciting Fundraising and Events Manager will play a critical role in driving the sustainable growth of Notts County Foundation by developing and delivering a comprehensive fundraising strategy that diversifies income streams and increases both restricted and unrestricted income. The role will focus on securing new programme funding, cultivating new donors and football supporters, developing corporate partnerships, managing fundraising and challenge events, and building a strong volunteer-led fundraising culture. The postholder will work closely with colleagues across Notts County Foundation and align fundraising activity with the commercial efforts and brand of Notts County Football Club. At our disposal is The Portland Centre and The NEST from where we can hold events locally. This is a highly visible, ambitious role suited to a passionate, organised and results-driven fundraiser with a proven track record in the charity sector. Key Accountability Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy & Income Diversification • Develop, implement and regularly review a multi-year fundraising strategy to support the growth and sustainability of Notts County Foundation., • Diversify income streams including (but not limited to):, • Trusts and foundations, • Corporate partnerships and sponsorship, • Individual giving and major donors, • Community and supporter fundraising, • Events and challenge-based fundraising, • Identify and develop new funding opportunities aligned to the Foundation’s programmes, priorities and impact., • Work collaboratively with Notts County Football Club to align fundraising initiatives with commercial, marketing and supporter engagement activities. Trusts, Grants & Programme Funding • Research, develop and submit high-quality funding applications for new and existing programmes., • Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, ensuring timely reporting, compliance and stewardship., • Work with programme staff to develop compelling cases for support, budgets and impact reporting. Corporate Partnerships & Supporter Engagement • Develop new corporate partnerships, sponsorships and cause-related marketing opportunities., • Engage local, regional and national businesses in supporting the Foundation’s work., • Develop fundraising initiatives that attract new football supporters and deepen engagement with existing fans. Events & Challenge Fundraising • Plan, organise and project manage a calendar of fundraising and challenge events., • Ensure events are financially viable, well promoted and deliver strong supporter engagement., • Evaluate event performance and use insight to improve future activity. Volunteer Fundraising & Support • Develop and implement a volunteer fundraising strategy to support income generation., • Recruit, train, motivate and support fundraising volunteers and ambassadors., • Ensure volunteers feel valued and aligned with the Foundation’s values and objectives. Donor Stewardship & Communications • Develop and implement a donor strategy covering acquisition, retention and stewardship., • Deliver excellent supporter and donor communications, both written and verbal., • Able to present to a variety of audiences, in the charity sector, public sector and private sector., • Ensure all supporters receive appropriate recognition, thanks and impact updates. Compliance, Governance & Best Practice • Ensure all fundraising activity complies with relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice (including the Fundraising Regulator and GDPR)., • Maintain accurate records using appropriate CRM or database systems., • Contribute to reporting for trustees, senior leadership and external stakeholders. Job Specification Essential Criteria Experience • Minimum of three year’s experience in a lead fundraising role within the charity sector., • Proven track record of raising funds through a variety of channels (e.g. grants, events, corporate partnerships, individual giving)., • Experience of developing and delivering fundraising strategies or plans., • Experience of organising and project managing fundraising or challenge events., • Experience of line managing and a commitment to nurturing and coaching. Skills & Knowledge • Strong understanding of fundraising legislation, regulation and best practice., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce compelling funding applications and donor communications., • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines., • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including funders, corporate partners, supporters and volunteers., • Confident in setting and working towards income targets, with an outcomes-focused approach.
