Injection Mould Press Engineer Location: Waterlooville Pay: £20.00 per hour Company: V3 Recruitment (on behalf of our client) V3 Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Injection Mould Press Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Waterlooville. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong injection moulding experience to join a high-volume production environment. Role Purpose The Injection Mould Press Engineer is responsible for the setup, operation, optimisation, and maintenance of injection moulding presses to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role plays a key part in maintaining stable processes, delivering consistent cycle times, producing high-quality parts, and supporting continuous improvement across the moulding department. Key Responsibilities Carry out setup, start-up, and shutdown of injection moulding presses in line with work instructions Install, secure, and remove mould tools safely and efficiently Set and adjust machine parameters including temperatures, speeds, pressures, cooling, and clamp force Perform first-off checks and complete all required documentation Optimise cycle times and process parameters to improve efficiency and quality Troubleshoot moulding defects such as flash, short shots, burns, warpage, and contamination Support improvements in OEE, scrap reduction, and overall production performance Inspect moulds, hot runners, and ancillary equipment for wear or damage Carry out routine preventative maintenance tasks Work closely with Toolroom and Engineering teams on tool changes, repairs, and modifications Ensure all parts meet quality standards and specifications Support root-cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, and other problem-solving tools Support new product trials, process development, and documentation Follow all health and safety procedures at all times Skills & Experience Essential Previous experience setting and operating injection moulding machines Strong knowledge of plastics processing, materials, and machine parameters Ability to read engineering drawings and process documentation Strong mechanical aptitude and practical engineering skills Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment Skills & Experience Desirable Qualification in Polymer Processing, Mechanical Engineering, or similar Experience working with robots, sprue pickers, conveyors, and ancillary equipment Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, SMED, 5S, or continuous improvement processes Experience working within ISO 9001 environments Forklift or overhead crane certification Personal Attributes Methodical and well-organised Hands-on problem solver Strong communicator and team player Able to work calmly under pressure Quality and safety focused Proactive and improvement-driven What Success Looks Like in This Role Stable, consistent moulding processes Reduced scrap, downtime, and cycle times Efficient and accurate tool changes Achievement of daily output and quality targets Strong collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams If you're an experienced Injection Mould Press Engineer looking for a new opportunity in a growing manufacturing environment, we would love to hear from you.
