Manchester Climate, Air and Noise Full Time, Permanent We are seeking an accomplished acoustic specialist to join our expanding Manchester team at the Associate or Principal level. You will be responsible for leading the delivery of significant, high-profile projects and contributing to the advancement of our acoustics service line through technical proficiency, client relationship management, and strategic business development. In the role of Associate / Principal Acoustic Consultant, you will provide expert technical guidance on major assignments, ensure the production of high-quality deliverables, and support the medium-term growth of our acoustics capabilities. This senior, client-facing position offers the opportunity to mentor team members, establish best practices, and influence project execution standards. What You’ll Do Take technical ownership of large, high-profile schemes (e.g., major planning applications and complex industrial or transport projects). Set and champion technical standards, quality assurance and best practice across the acoustics team. Lead specialist assessments (including EIA noise chapters, strategic noise mapping and complex transport noise) and review/sign off key deliverables. Develop robust mitigation strategies and provide design input at project and programme level. Act as a senior client contact; represent Pegasus in consultations, planning hearings and stakeholder workshops. Lead major proposals and bids; contribute to service development and (where relevant) pricing strategy. Mentor senior staff and support technical development and succession planning across the team. Where required, act as Expert Witness and prepare statements for inquiries. Attend and present at meetings, inquiries, public consultations and exhibitions as a senior representative. Monitor programme resourcing and profitability, supporting effective planning and delivery on complex workstreams. Further details can be found within the attached job description.
