Electrical Installations Lecturer – Urgent Requirement College King’s Cross Campus Full-Time (Temporary/on-going) Immediate Start An established and well-regarded College based in King’s Cross is seeking an experienced and committed Electrical Installations Lecturer to join their Construction Department on a full-time, temporary basis. Role Overview Position: Electrical Installations Lecturer Location: King’s Cross Campus Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday) Contract: Temporary (until permanent appointment is made) Start Date: Monday 28th February (subject to interview)Key Responsibilities & Duties To act as a Learning Manager and take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the courses you deliver To teach across a range of courses and be actively involved in student support To prepare appropriate teaching materials, including ICT/ILT resources, ensuring they remain up to date To successfully embed English and Maths into all teaching (both practical and theory) To assess and monitor students’ work and provide constructive feedback To liaise with employers to secure work experience placements; monitor placements and assess students in the workplace To undertake associated administrative duties including record keeping, enrolment and examination procedures To promote curriculum development of existing and new courses, including monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance To support marketing activities and student recruitment To attend College and departmental meetings, as well as relevant staff development events To undertake additional duties as required To take responsibility for BKSB initial and diagnostic assessments, including target setting in line with student results To record and monitor student targets, progress, results and wider achievement using Promonitor To develop employer links and work experience opportunities within the electrical/construction sector and associated industriesEssential Requirements Level 3 Electrical Engineering or Electrical Installation qualification (minimum) A recognised Teaching qualification (AET, PTTLS, Cert Ed, PGCE, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training) or Assessor Awards (TAQA/CAVA or equivalent) Knowledge and experience of working with 16–19-year-olds in Further Education Understanding of how to adapt and vary teaching styles to maximise learning effectiveness, including the use of interactive VLE, ICT and e-learning tools Knowledge of assessment and accreditation requirements relevant to Electrical Installations courses Strong classroom and workshop management skills Ability to embed English and Maths within vocational deliveryThe Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic Construction Department delivering industry-relevant training to learners preparing for careers in the electrical sector.
