TXM Recruit are supporting a rail business to recruit several Rail Engineering Technicians you will support the maintenance of a fleet of rail vehicles, carrying out both planned and unplanned maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities • Perform maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, and servicing of rolling stock to a high standard and in line with engineering best practices., • Work in accordance with technical, operational, and environmental procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and maintenance schedules., • Follow Fleet Standards documentation, including Depot Maintenance Schedules, Technical Instructions, Job Cards, and other issued materials., • Support productivity and efficiency initiatives within the maintenance team as directed by the Duty Fleet Manager or their delegate., • Comply with all safe working practices, depot protection measures, and company health & safety requirements., • Maintain high standards of depot housekeeping and contribute to a positive safety culture., • Adhere to instructions and guidance from supervisors and managers., • Follow industry rules and regulations, including Network Rail standards where applicable., • Undertake diagnostic reviews and update electronic documentation as required., • Perform additional duties as required by management. Essential Criteria • ONC (or higher) qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering., • Strong understanding of health and safety procedures., • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams and technical layouts., • Skilled in systematic fault finding and problem-solving., • Demonstrated experience in mechanical and/or electrical engineering., • Flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment., • Capable of working independently or as part of a team., • Able to reliably travel to and from work outside of standard public transport hours., • Willing and able to work a rotating shift pattern (early, late, nights, weekends)., • Commitment to maintaining high company standards. Desirable Criteria • Experience with Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs)., • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems., • Experience working in a Traction & Rolling Stock (T&RS) depot environment., • Familiarity with T&RS fleet maintenance operations.
