Depot Shift Leader (Nights) Depot Shift Leader (Nights) Job Purpose To manage Operators efficiently and effectively, ensuring the site and its technical installations are maintained in optimal condition and used safely. The role aims to deliver consistent, high-quality service to customers. Depot Shift Leader (Nights) Key Accountabilities1. Leadership Lead and manage Operators effectively, ensuring a safe, compliant working environment and the smooth flow of operations. • Ensure staff are effectively utilised, both in terms of productivity and quality., • Allocate tasks and monitor progress, execution, and quality of all activities., • Maintain a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible workplace in line with current regulations and standards., • Identify process bottlenecks and propose improvements., • Conduct team briefings, performance reviews, and appraisal discussions. Depot Shift Leader (Nights) Logistics Operations Plan, organise, and carry out all site logistics activities efficiently, with a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental standards. • Organise and support the loading and unloading of vehicles., • Oversee crate washing, baling of recyclable waste, and the storage and sorting of returnable items (RTIs)., • Support the repair of crates, dollies, pallets, and other packaging materials & Minimise inventory discrepancies through active participation in stock counts & Set handling priorities and provide operational support where required., • Monitor logistics performance using KPIs and report outcomes to the Site Manager., • Act as the first point of contact for customers regarding logistics services., • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and enhance quality. Depot Shift Leader (Nights) Management of Technical Installations Ensure all site equipment and installations are maintained in optimal working condition to support operational planning and customer requirements. • Monitor and evaluate key operational processes & Actively support the effective operation of machinery and equipment., • Carry out basic preventive maintenance and monitor wear and tear & Work with the Maintenance Engineer to assess faults and breakdown risks, adjusting plans as required & Track equipment performance using KPIs and report to the Depot Manager., • Effective leadership and utilisation of staff., • Efficient organisation of collections and deliveries., • Optimised planning and production aligned with customer requirements and KPIs., • Accurate and timely reporting., • Equipment maintained in optimal working condition., • Safe, clean, and environmentally responsible workplace.
