If you're looking for a role where you can make an impact, drive improvements, and be valued for your expertise, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. \n \n We are looking for a Facilities Manager who thrives in biotech environments, understands the complexities of lab operations, and wants to build something exceptional - not just maintain the status quo. \n \n Why Make the Move? \n \n\n • Your ideas matter – We are not here to tick boxes; we want fresh thinking to make our labs & facilities run at their best.\n, • Cutting-edge environment – Work in a state-of-the-art R&D centre at the heart of Cambridge’s science cluster.\n, • Be a key player, not just a caretaker – This isn’t about passive maintenance; you will lead projects, improve processes, and help shape the future of the facilities.\n\n \n What You Will Be Doing: \n \n\n • Overseeing lab & office spaces – Managing building systems, lab infrastructure, and equipment servicing (including CL II hoods, centrifuges, incubators, pipette clinic etc).\n, • Ensuring compliance & safety as well as working collaboratively with the H & S Manager to conduct audits & inspections.\n, • Leading a team – Managing a team of Facilities Assistant & Lab Support Technicians, ensuring things like lab consumables & equipment servicing, run smoothly.\n, • Managing vendors & budgets – Securing cost-effective contracts and high service levels.\n, • Driving sustainability – Implementing energy-saving initiatives and environmental improvements.\n, • Planning refurbishments & fit-outs – Hands-on involvement in lab/office builds and upgrades.\n\n \n What We Need From You: \n \n\n • Facilities management experience in biotech, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences, with lab support expertise covering Hard & Soft Services and managing whole building services, not just in a managed building.\n, • Demonstrable knowledge of building systems, lab equipment servicing, and compliance (H&S, CD, GMO, HTA licenses).\n, • Strong leadership skills, able to motivate teams and drive improvements.\n, • Experience with refurbishments, lab/office fit-outs, and optimising workspaces.\n, • Practiced in vendor management, budgeting & contract negotiation\n\n \n What’s in It for You? \n \n\n • Competitive salary dependent on experience\n, • Discretionary bonus scheme\n, • Eligible for grants of restricted stock unit grants.\n, • 26 days holiday + bank holidays + option to buy more.\n, • Private medical (for you & your family)\n, • Cash plan for dental & optical reimbursement\n, • Subsidised gym membership & wellbeing initiatives.\n, • Income protection to cover long term absences due to ill health\n, • 4x basic salary life cover.\n\n \n Interested?
