Within the Trackside Engineering Team we have a rare opportunity as a Senior Race Engineer. Senior Race Engineer - The Role Act as the lead engineer responsible for all technical and strategic aspects of one car. Define setup based on data analysis, simulation results, and input from the performance group. Drive mid-event decision-making with targeted analysis of setup, driver feedback, and competitor data. Lead the simulator/simulation correlation effort through detailed analysis and recommendations. Manage communication and coordination across the car crew, including mechanics and dedicated performance/system engineers. Take shared responsibility for car legality with the team’s Technical Coordinator. Senior Race Engineer - The Person The successful candidate will hold an engineering or relevant degree. They will have a strong understanding of driving analysis, using several tools - reports to help our drivers, as well as vehicles dynamics & system knowledge for their car performance analysis. In addition they will possess: At least 3 years of experience as a Race Engineer in top-level motorsport (WEC/ELMS/Asian LMS/Formula 1/Formula E/…) LMP style car well founded knowledge is a must. In-depth understanding of vehicle dynamics and high-performance engineering. Exceptional communication and leadership skills under high-pressure environments. Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail. A good knowledge of software used within Alpine Endurance Team, such as HHDM, HH Timing, MM Wintax & Sysma, MATLAB, Canopy is an advantage. Fluent in English, French is a plus They will be self-motivated, willing to work collaboratively with other individuals, as part of a group, and with other groups within the team. GM Performance Power Units LLC - Concord, NC Performance Engineering Manager - Onsite Position Overview: GM Performance Power Units is seeking a forward-thinking and results-driven Performance Engineering Manager to lead the performance development function of our Formula 1 power unit (PU) program. This role is instrumental in maximizing the competitive performance of the PU through advanced modeling, data analysis, and real-time support. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in F1 or top-tier motorsport environments, combining technical expertise with strong leadership skills to guide a high-performance engineering team. You will work collaboratively across ICE, ERS, controls, and trackside groups to deliver performance excellence across the full race calendar. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the Performance Engineering group responsible for simulation, performance modeling, calibration strategy, and real-time data analysis of the F1 power unit., • Own the definition and tracking of performance targets, including power output, fuel efficiency, energy recovery, and deployment strategies., • Drive the development and validation of performance tools, including 1D, 3D and real-time simulation models (GT-Power, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.)., • Collaborate with ICE, ERS, controls, and vehicle integration teams to ensure performance optimization across the full power unit system., • Lead pre-event and post-event performance reviews, working closely with trackside operations and race engineers., • Analyze on-track data and develop strategies to enhance competitiveness while ensuring power unit reliability., • Represent the performance group in technical decision-making meetings, reporting findings and recommendations to executive and technical leadership., • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Motorsport Engineering, or a related field., • 8+ years of experience in powertrain or performance engineering within F1 or elite motorsports (e.g., WEC, IndyCar, Formula E)., • Proven leadership experience in a technical motorsport environment, with strong team management and cross-functional collaboration., • In-depth knowledge of hybrid power units, ICE performance metrics, energy recovery systems, and fuel strategies., • Strong data analysis skills using MATLAB, Simulink, ATLAS, MoTeC, or similar tools., • Working knowledge of Siemens NX, GT Power, and other 1D and 3D simulation Tools, • Hands-on experience with race strategy, deployment optimization, and powertrain calibration., • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to rapid change, and deliver high-quality technical outcomes in fast-paced environments., • Experience with current or next-generation F1 power units under 2026 FIA regulations., • Familiarity with hybrid system integration and performance trade-offs between ICE and ERS components., • Knowledge of telemetry systems, F1 technical working groups, and sporting regulations., • Advanced simulation experience (real-time models, hardware-in-the-loop environments).

Experience with vehicle dynamics simulation tools – ideally Canopy. Precise, methodical, and analytical approach to engineering tasks. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, especially under time pressure. Nice to Have: Advanced coding skills (Python, MATLAB, VBA). Experience working with simulator and simulation model correlation. Previous Formula E experience is a strong asset. Education & Background Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport, or Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline. Proactive and self-motivated mindset.
