Description Enforcement Officer Location: Town Hall and across the Borough Salary: Grade 6 32061 to 34434 Hours: 37 hours per week on a rota basis including weekends Contract: Full-time Permanent Gosport Borough Council is looking for proactive and community-minded Enforcement Officer to join our Streetscene team. If youre passionate about making a positive impact in their local area enjoy working outdoors and are confident dealing with a range of public-facing situations we want to hear from you. What Youll Be Doing: • Patrolling public areas to identify and address environmental offences (e.g. littering dog fouling fly-tipping) engaging with individuals to issue Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) where offences are committed., • Patrolling car parks to enforce parking regulations in accordance with relevant legislation issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) to vehicles in contravention of parking restrictions., • Enforcing Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) in accordance with Council guidelines, • Responding to incidents involving rough sleepers and unauthorised encampments, • Maintain accurate records of all enforcement activity and complete necessary reports attending court and providing witness statements when required., • Providing a reassuring presence engaging with residents businesses and community partners, • Experienced in enforcement investigations or similar regulatory work, • Calm and confident when dealing with difficult or confrontational situations, • Able to work independently and as part of a close-knit team, • Skilled in communication with a diplomatic professional approach, • Well-organised IT literate and capable of managing a varied caseload, • Full current UK driving licence, • Good level of literacy and numeracy, • Comfortable using IT systems and mobile devices, • Able to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends, • Previous experience in parking community safety or environmental enforcement, • Knowledge of relevant legislation: Traffic Management Act Environmental Protection Act Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act Police and Criminal Evidence Act, • Be part of a supportive and committed team, • Contribute directly to community wellbeing and public safety, • Access to training and development, • Access to Local Government Pension Scheme To make sure your application is above the rest please review the job profile and how to apply to ensure your application matches the requirements of the role.
