Full-time, 12 month fixed-term contract London/hybrid working The British Academy the UKs national body for the humanities and social sciences - is seeking an International Programmes Manager (Mobility) to join the international department, providing key support in the delivery of the Academys work related to the Global Talent Visa. The role The International Programmes Manager (Mobility) reports to the Deputy Head of International (Engagement and Net Zero). Together with the other international programmes manager, the role holder will be responsible for managing the Academys role as an endorsing body for the Global Talent Visa, leading on the programmes delivery and improvement. The role will also include managing members engagement on international mobility and immigration in relation to the research and innovation sector. You will be line-managing two international programmes officers to deliver the programme. We are looking for someone with excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills. You will also be an effective communicator with both external and internal stakeholders. The British Academys Global Strategy, Policy & Engagement team promotes and supports international collaboration and mobility, develops and maintains links with sister academies, international organisations and other partners overseas, and leverages the expertise of Fellows and award-holders to further the Academys reach, impact and influence internationally. The Academys international programmes are multi-year endeavours which entail a wide array of activities: from providing research funding to talented individuals in the UK and overseas, to informing international policy and public debates, to using the Academys convening power to showcase the value of international and interdisciplinary collaborations for addressing todays global challenges and ensuring that the UK maintains its place as a world-leader in the social sciences and humanities. About the Academy The British Academy is the UKs national body for the humanities and social sciences, established by Royal Charter in 1902. We mobilise these disciplines to understand the world and shape a brighter future. Todays complex challenges can only be resolved by deepening our insight into people, culture, and societies. With a Fellowship of around 1,700 leading national and international academics, the Academy invests in researchers and projects across the UK and overseas, engages the public with fresh thinking and debates, and brings together scholars, government, business, and civil society to influence policy. The Academy currently has five directorates: Communications & Marketing, Development, Policy, Research, and Resources, plus a small Governance & Fellowship Team.
