Quantity Surveyor Galldris Group Location: Radlett, England, United Kingdom An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Hertfordshire. To be considered, you will come from a Construction or Civil Engineering background. The ideal candidate will have to hold a full UK driving licence. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible to provide advice and report on and control all commercial and financial aspects of projects and contracts. The Quantity Surveyor will also assist the Senior Quantity Surveyors in providing commercial expertise for projects to maximise returns by working within robust procedures to support the Commercial Team and Project Managers. Key Accountabilities to include but not limited to: • Achieve or exceed budgeted targets by looking for V/E opportunities, alternative methods of completing the works and buying gains from S/C Procurement, • Ensure external valuations are submitted in accordance with the conditions of the contract and that payments are received by the due date, taking full responsibility for the projects cash position and management of WIP, • Assist the Commercial Lead with monthly CVR reports, ensuring they accurately reflect the current position on site and the final projected figures, • Administer the contract (and subcontract) conditions and identify and prepare timely contractual notices for all events, • Price and agree all project Compensation Events, in a timely manner whilst maximising our entitlement, • Understand the bid and demonstrate a good working knowledge of the projects at Preconstruction Stage, • Procure supply chain orders in a timely manner that accurately reflect the scope works and administer same, accurately valuing, certifying and issuing relevant payment notices, • Accurately re-measure works in accordance with the method of measurement and in a timely manner, whilst maximising our entitlement, • Achieve timely final account agreement on client and supply chain accounts, whilst maintaining strong working relationships, • Undertaking other duties as reasonably required from time to time by line manager, • Comply with Company procedures Experience/Knowledge: • Wide experience of Civil Engineering, • CSCS Card, • Experience working with NEC3 or NEC4 Option B necessary, • Experience working with NEC3 or NEC4 Options A, C and D desired Qualifications: • Degree in Building Surveying or similar technical qualification (HND HNC), • Royal institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Membership (desirable) Skills: • Ability to use a range of IT packages, Microsoft Office and bespoke packages, • Exceptional relationship building skills, • Self-motivated and proactive Commercial awareness and understanding of the Construction process, • Excellent communication skills, both oral & written, • Negotiation skills and ability to apply those skills internally, externally & with our supply chain, • Positive attitude at all times and the ability to integrate and play active part in the Construction Team, • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines, • Keen to pursue personal development needs and maintain up-to-date knowledge, • Highly numerate Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the UK. The Operations Coordinator will also deal with internal stakeholders which is included but not limited to credit control, logistics, procurement, stock team, account managers, Branch managers etc. Skills/Responsibilities: • Working collaboratively with the team, whilst holding yourself to account answering customer phone queries within pre-agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) with a client centric approach to build brand loyalty., • Act as a first point of contact for our VARs and Account Managers., • SAP GUI- Being able to process an order via S43 and track from beginning to end & run an effective backorder., • After-sales support (dealing with damages, picking errors, ETAs, returns, invoice queries, and any other delivery issues)., • Respond to customer correspondence regarding account queries., • Deal with logistic queries within the stated service level agreements (SLA)., • To assist the Sales Channel Account Manager in ensuring that the dept achieve its sales forecast., • Contacting our VARs to keep them up to date with changes on their purchase orders/ gain additional information to ensure stock is delivered as and when required., • Working closely with our VARs on projects and roll out plans for sites., • Processing orders and sending out order acknowledgements within the agreed SLAs., • General administrative duties to support the department., • Support other regional offices as and when required., • Operations Coordinator are to strive towards continuous improvement within their role and function by consistently reviewing all processes and practices to ensure optimum accuracy and efficiency., • Running reports and analyse data as required. Project management, taking ownership to ensure fulfilment of orders on time in full working to customer schedules through means of regular contact., • Concise order management to support accurate forecasting of sales targets, product procurement and logistics resource. The role will initially cover works within the London ar ea b ut our contract op erates a cross the Homes Counties and through London and south down towards Crawley. About the Role As our Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the day-to-day commercial control, reporting and management of multiple projects from award up to final account. Within the role, youll conduct site visits and carry out surveying duties; keeping your line manager appraised of the progress of all accounts, both client and sub-contract, through to finalisation. Youll have effective commercial control of all allocated projects, including the provision of timely and accurate documentation in accordance with the reporting timetable, in particular CVRs, forecasts, continuous improvement documents, cash flow forecast and the commercial register. In conjunction with the Procurement Team, you will ensure that the procurement of sub-trades and suppliers is undertaken in a timely and cost effective manner, and manage the timely production of the main/sub-contract final accounts, including re-measurement as necessary to ensure the best result, evaluation and agreement of all variations, extensions of time, loss and expense claims. About You Were looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is d egree qualified or has experience of working in a partnering and target cost type model in planned maintenance for social housing providers and/or local authorities. Ideally you will have e xperience of working on large estate refurbishment projects and experience of the Building Safety Act relative to blocks and HRB's would also preferable. Holding a l evel 4 qualification in Construction or Management ( or equivalent or demonstrate extensive experience in a similar / related role ), you will also hold a White CSCS Card or be working towards this. Due to nature of the role, you must hold a valid UK driving licence.
