An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our new Bath & North East Somerset Drug and Alcohol service. This is a vibrant new partnership delivering substance use treatment and recovery services across Bath & North East Somerset. Our partnership draws upon experience delivering substance use services in Bath & North East Somerset and nationally, with specialist knowledge around diverse local communities, and the community insight which only comes from hyper-localism. As the Clinical Lead Doctor, you’ll have the chance to make a real difference to the lives of the people we support who are experiencing difficulties from drug and alcohol use. Turning Point offers the chance to work with many addiction specialists across the country, lending both learning and support to this role. The Clinical Lead will lead the service by: • Leading on all aspects of clinical governance and quality assurance, including clinical audit, clinical effectiveness and patient safety, • Taking a lead on service development, • Acting as advisor on development and implementation of policy, • Championing and leading research and innovation to develop new clinical guidance and service protocols, • Working with Turning Point colleagues nationally to optimise patient care, • Providing clinical supervision, training to clinical colleagues, • Provide expert advice to other clinicians on diagnosis, assessment and care planning, for example on complex drug interactions, comorbid drug-related physical and mental health issues, and integration of psychosocial and medical treatment, • Accept referrals of people with the most severe or complex needs, • Provide expert oversight of provision of psychosocial support, based on comprehensive knowledge of research evidence, • Lead introduction of innovative interventions to improve outcomes and quality of provision, • Undertake complex prescribing, for example injectable opioid substitution treatments, if necessary, • Provide liaison drug and alcohol services in acute medical and psychiatric settings and expert advice to courts We are looking for an experienced doctor who can take a lead on service delivery and development. As such, both clinical experience / expertise and leadership skills are paramount. The successful candidate will need to be accredited as ‘specialist’ in substance use treatment, and should either: 1. Be listed on the GMC’s Specialist Register as a psychiatrist with an endorsement in addiction, with the supervision and CPD requirements this entails; OR 2. Have training, experience and supervision equivalent to this, as certified by the GMC through an appropriate Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR); OR 3. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Quantity Surveyor, you will support the Commercial Manager; helping to drive efficiencies; managing costs and regional performance for our clients. This role will see you take control of all financial aspects of the project; overseeing all commercial & contractual matters. You will deliver desired margin return utilising high standards of commercial acumen. Our Role We are looking for experienced Overhead Line Chargehands to join our teams working on our UKPN contract. The Chargehand Linesperson will be the responsible party for leading teams of 2- or 3-person teams in the erection of poles, changing transformers and carry out any other overhead line work that may be required. We have secured a 5 year contract with UK Power Networks, providing support across their ED2 Distribution Network Programme. We will be providing services across all distribution assets, including overhead lines, underground cabling and substations on LV, 11kV, and 33kV networks. From the 1st April 2023, our teams will be working across the southwest Chilterns, Borehamwood and the Bedford/Cambridge area. Key duties and responsibilities Main responsibilities In line with our income generation strategy: • Lead on the strategic planning and implementation of income generation activities to help build sustainability of The Carers’ Centre and its services for 19,600 unpaid carers across Bath and North East Somerset., • Develop and implement a stewardship programme for donors and funders building support and securing new income for The Carers’ Centre., • Design and deliver a diverse income generation plan to support philanthropy and fundraising in line with The Carers’ Centre Strategic Plan., • Co-produce annual philanthropy and fundraising targets and take the lead responsibility to instigate and co-ordinate the activity that will achieve them., • Build long-lasting relationships with key local philanthropists, donors, and funders., • Work proactively with colleagues to research, identify and scope a portfolio of compelling projects and proposals that will appeal to donors and funders., • Work closely with communication colleagues to develop appropriate communications campaigns and activities for different supporter groups., • Contribute towards the charity’s communications and marketing strategy ensuring fundraising is embedded., • Provide effective line management and support to direct reports to help them maximise their potential and effectiveness. Researching, analysing market trends and report writing, Chase de Vere paraplanners work closely with our financial advisers and client support teams to deliver advice and provide ongoing services to new and existing clients. Supported by our experienced paraplanning management and development team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of client cases of varying complexity, continually developing your skill and expertise. Our paraplanning teams have exceptional technical and industry knowledge with many having secured their Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, with some continuing their studies towards Chartered. Whilst these qualifications are important, the role of a paraplanner requires so much more the ability to work independently, a keen eye for detail and a real passion to provide the best independent financial research and advice for our clients. WHAT YOU WILL NEED Technical knowledge is essential in this role, so it is a requirement that you have secured a number of your financial planning (R0) qualifications and be striving to complete your Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning. Experience in a paraplanning role is essential, so we would require you to have worked as a paraplanner for a minimum of 2 years. Teamwork and collaboration are vitally important within this role. If a member of your team is in the midst of a complex report and an urgent piece of work comes in, our paraplanners go above and beyond to help one another out. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail. WHAT YOUR ROLE WILL INVOLVE Our paraplanners are critical to our business and the work they do is hugely valued by our clients. Alongside preparing recommendations, our paraplanners review our clients finances on an annual basis, asses their exposure to risk and update their financial strategy to reflect their changing circumstances. Your day-to-day role Conducting research on clients financial planning arrangements, both existing and recommended, to ensure that the clients needs and objectives are met. Undertaking investment portfolio analysis, including asset allocation analysis in line with the clients stated attitude to risk. Compiling investment, pension and protection illustrations, projections and associated documentation. Writing technical and accurate suitability reports and client service agreement letters Ensuring client files comply with both FCA regulations and our internal policy and procedures.
