Civils Contracts Manager with experience in the rail sector wanted to join a leading infrastructure contractor, based in the Manchester area. This is an office based role, with site visits. Responsibilities: • Manage multiple civil engineering schemes in the rail, water and energy sectors, ensuring timely completion according to client specifications, safely and within budget, • Agree contract details with client and ensure sign-off prior to works commencing, • Ensure programme of works in line with contractual agreement, • Manage the team, including Project Managers, Construction Managers and Site Managers plus admin staff, • Lead on SHEQ, • Accurate planning of resources and materials in line with project requirements, • Make sure the following are all in place - Health and Safety Plans, Construction Phase Plans, Work Package Plans, Quality Plans and Environmental Management Plans, • Ensure projects are completed in line with client requirements, • Coordinate and manage team, including sub-contractor resource and external consultants, ensuring programme and cost milestones / targets are met, • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including client, suppliers, sub-contractors etc, • Conduct site inspections and risk assessments, • Assist the commercial and SHEQ teams, providing documentation when called upon Requirements: To be considered for this role, previous experience as a Contracts Manager for civil engineering works within the railway industry is essential.
