We are recruiting for an Auction House Porter/Trainee cataloguer, experience not essential as we are happy to train the right person. We are looking for a proactive and organised individual to join our small team of auction specialists and porters. This is a hands-on, physical, full-time position, including some weekends and evenings, as well as working at our off-site storage facility. It is ideal for someone who thrives on independence, has a strong initiative and pays close attention to detail. Duties: · Recording incoming stock · Arranging lots for photography and photographing items ready to be advertised for the auctions · Keep the auction room/warehouse clean and tidy, recycling or clearing away boxes and packaging · Setting up the auction room ready for auction day · Collecting items from clients, loading and unloading vehicles · Answering customer questions in person and on the phone · Helping customers with collecting their items and assisting them with loading them into their vehicles · Assisting the packing team with picking items for packing, and packing items for dispatch Essential: · Good interpersonal skills · Basic computer skills · Eye for detail · Organised · Full UK driving licence The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job and will frequently be required to move heavy items and work on their feet for long periods of time. Desirable: · Basic photography skills · An interest in one of our areas of speciality
