Job Title:\nSenior Structural Engineer \n Location: Barrow-in-Furness.\nWe offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements –\nplease speak to your\nrecruiter about the options for this role \n Salary: Competitive \n What you’ll be\ndoing: • Conducting\nanalysis and design of\ncomplex structures in\naccordance with Eurocodes, British Standards and BAE standards to\nsupport Submarine construction, • You will apply\nyour expertise in\nregulations and requirements that extend beyond those used within\nBAE Systems, including LOLER, Codes of Compliance, Weld\nSpecifications, and Geometric Tolerance\n, • Proficient in computer based analytical methods, including\nfinite element analysis, CAD modelling and\ninterpreting engineering schematics (Abaqus, S-Frame)\n, • Providing support for the manufacturing, assembly,\nlifting, handling, and installation of Submarine structures,\nmodules and components, • Contributing in a\nfast-paced environment by applying knowledge of facility and site\nconstraints related to the shipping, handling, alignment, and\ninstallation of hull units, large equipment, and structural\ncomponents Assisting in the\ndevelopment of concept drawings, layouts and other technical\ndeliverables in line with the contractual obligations, ensuring\nalignment with project schedules, targets and budget\nconstraints \n Your skills and\nexperiences: Essential: \n • Engineering Degree BEng/MEng or equivalent /\nOR HND with extensive experience in\nCivil/Mechanical/Structural, • Experience in\nundertaking Hand Analysis and Design Techniques\nincluding Report Writing, • Understanding of the\nuse of Eurocodes and British Standards\n, • Previous\nknowledge in a production environment – experience in a marine\nproduction environment is advantageous The Production\nEngineering Department team: As a\nSenior Structural Engineer within the Production Engineering\nDepartment, you will collaborate with a dual-function team\ncomprising of both designers and engineers. Joining a rapidly\ngrowing team on a new programme, you will be responsible for\nconducting engineering assessments to support the build process.\nWorking closely with the design team, you will contribute to the\ndevelopment of equipment and provide operational and production\nsupport for the delivery of safety-critical systems.
