We are currently looking for experienced and aspiring special educational needs (SEN) teaching assistants and learning support assistants to work in schools around Leeds. Academics are working with a number of mainstream primary schools in Leeds who provide a safe learning environment for pupils living with autism (ASD/ASC). These schools are looking for focused and skilled Special Needs Teaching Assistant to provide a high standard of support for a pupils in various year groups with special educational needs. • The ideal Teaching Assistant will have experience of working with children with SEND, particularly autism (ASD/ASC) * Candidates with experience working with children, SEND and/or the care industry will also be considered * A can do attitude and a willingness to help in other areas of the classroom * The ability to use initiative and work well under pressure * The ability to communicate effectively with the children and other staff members *You will have a DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply for one • The role will involve working 1to1 * Assessing and accommodating individual learning needs of the pupil * Reporting on individual pupils progress * Encouraging the social and emotional development of the pupil Why work with Academics Ltd? Level 2 SEN Learning Support Assistant £95-105 per day Immediate Start Qualiteach Yorkshire are looking for an experienced Level 2 SEN Learning Support Assistant for a specialist school in Leeds for children with moderate and complex learning needs. The setting is a large SEN school with multiple sites who cater for a mix of ages, and are looking for someone with experience to join their team full time within their primary sector ASAP. The Role: • Working within a 1:1 and group basis who have a variety of needs, tailoring learning to suit them, • Working within a team and helping to build a comfortable environment for all children and staff Following care plans, EHCP’s, Pupil Passports and other relevant documents • Being comfortable with personal care is advantageous, • Supporting a fantastic curriculum that teaches the children and young adults real life skills, as well as subject specific knowledge What you will need: • Experience of working with children who have complex needs, • A willingness to ‘jump in’ and help where necessary, • Being comfortable with taking pupils for outings, supporting their independence and being a positive influence, • Be able to assist the children with their emotional literacy, helping them to co and self regulate, • Knowledge of different behaviour management techniques and how to support Special Educational Needs to best assist the array of needs of the children, • Level 2 or above qualification relating to education or childcare What we offer: When you work with Qualiteach, you will have access to a range of expertise and advice as well as benefits.
