About the Role Position: Graduate Cost Consultant / Quantity Surveyor Start Date: September 2026 Location: Bristol Sector Focus: Public and Local Government Projects You’ll be contributing to programmes that directly support local authorities as they deal with increasing demands, limited budgets, and ambitious sustainability targets. Our team partners with councils to bring modern construction approaches, strong commercial oversight, and innovative thinking to the development of housing, transport facilities, educational buildings and community assets. Although you will initially join a specific team, your work will naturally evolve as client needs change. This means you’ll gain exposure to a variety of teams, disciplines and sectors during your time with us. Your Responsibilities In this role, you’ll support the delivery of cost and commercial services throughout the full project lifecycle. Activities may include: • Contributing to early-stage assessments such as feasibility analysis, procurement plans and contract options., • Learning to use value-focused techniques to help shape projects from the outset., • Supporting the development of cost estimates, budgets and cost plans., • Assisting with tender and procurement activities, including document preparation, analysis of bids and contract drafting., • Helping assemble contract documentation, guarantees and related legal paperwork., • Gaining experience in quantifying works completed, valuing changes, and understanding how contract terms guide these processes., • Assisting with monthly cost reporting, forecasting and financial control., • Identifying the commercial impact of design development, construction activities and client decisions., • Taking part in assessments of delay or cost claims from contractors or suppliers., • Supporting the processes for defect resolution and final account close-out. As part of your development, you’ll work towards a relevant professional accreditation, fully funded and guided by our team.
