Position Summary: The Staff Accountant at A Bricks Coggin CPA, PLLC is an entry- to mid-level role responsible for assisting with financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and audit support. This position provides exposure to various accounting functions, including reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a foundational understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & General Accounting • Assist in preparing financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements in accordance with GAAP., • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness., • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes., • Perform bank reconciliations and analyze account variances., • Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions., • Assist in audit engagements by gathering documentation and preparing schedules., • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and industry regulations., • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency., • Work closely with senior accountants and managers to support client engagements., • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and financial regulations., • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field., • 0-2 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or related fields (internship experience is a plus)., • CPA eligibility or progress toward certification is great, but not required, • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles., • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, or other accounting software., • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills., • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
