Job Description Job Title: Finish Carpenter Job Description As a painter, you will be responsible for preparing and applying finishes to interior and exterior surfaces on small to mid-sized commercial projects. You will work in crews of 3 to 10 and adapt to non-climate-controlled environments. Ideal candidates possess over three years of experience, have strong attention to detail, and are proficient with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. Knowledge of safety protocols, including OSHA standards, is essential. Responsibilities • Clean, sand, patch, and prime surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion and a smooth finish., • Apply skilled brushing, rolling, and spraying techniques for both interior and exterior surfaces., • Mix paints to achieve precise colors and finishes, including matte, gloss, and textured coatings., • Patch holes, smooth seams, and prep drywall for paint., • Utilize familiarity with primers, sealers, epoxies, and specialty coatings used in commercial construction. Essential Skills • 3+ years of experience in painting., • Strong attention to detail., • Proficiency with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment., • Knowledge of safety protocols, including OSHA standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in construction, hanging, drywall finishing, carpentry, concrete work, and framing., • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools., • Skill in paint preparation and coating techniques. Work Environment Work on small to mid-sized commercial projects within teams ranging from 3 to 10 employees. Currently, the self-perform team consists of 27 employees and is expected to grow in 2025. The work environment is not climate-controlled, requiring adaptability to varying conditions. The typical schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with contractors likely working 42-43 hours per week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
