Job DescriptionDescription: Location: Dallas–Fort Worth Metro Area (In-Person) Timeframe: Depends on the Semester Community Impact (CI) is a hyperlocal news organization delivering neighborhood-focused journalism through print, digital, and targeted marketing solutions. We work closely with local businesses to connect them with the communities they serve. We are seeking a Sales Intern who’s eager to learn the ins and outs of media sales, prospecting, and community engagement while making a real impact on our revenue growth. This role offers a mix of training, field experience, and hands-on sales outreach. What You’ll Do As a Sales Intern, you will: • Research and identify local advertising prospects using a variety of sources (local publications, billboards, online listings, dormant leads, and more), • Contact potential clients via phone, email, and social media to set up discovery calls for our Account Executives, • Log activity, track progress, and maintain accurate records in our CRM system, • Shadow sales team members in client meetings, community events, and internal planning sessions, • Learn about CI’s advertising products, sales process, and community-driven approach, • Contribute to measurable revenue growth through qualified leads and scheduled appointments What You’ll Learn You will gain exposure to: • The full media sales process, from prospecting to closing, • Effective cold calling and email outreach strategies, • CRM tools, lead management, and sales reporting, • Community networking through chamber events and local partnerships, • The inner workings of a fast-paced media organization What We’re Looking For • Strong communication skills — you’re comfortable speaking with business owners, • Organized and self-motivated, with attention to detail, • Eagerness to learn and apply new skills quickly, • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment, • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, • Sales, marketing, communications, or business coursework (preferred but not required) Compensation & Hours • $12/hour, 40 hours per week, • Opportunity for bonus and commission based on performance, • Internship runs approximately 9 weeks during the semester, • Hands-on experience in media sales with measurable results, • Mentorship from experienced sales leaders, • Networking opportunities in your local community, • A fun, collaborative, and mission-driven cultureRequirements:
