Job DescriptionJob Title: Concrete Laborer / Concrete Cutter Job Description This role offers a hands-on opportunity to build a long-term career in concrete cutting and demolition while working on a wide range of residential and commercial projects. You will perform physically demanding work that involves cutting, drilling, and demolishing concrete structures using specialized tools and heavy equipment. Previous construction or other physically demanding experience is preferred, and comprehensive training is available for motivated candidates. Responsibilities • Operate, or be willing to learn to operate, wall saws, core drills, hand saws, flat saws, and other hand or power tools used in concrete cutting and demolition., • Support full building demolitions and renovations, including cutting, drilling, and removing concrete and related materials., • Perform concrete cutting on both residential projects, such as cutting windows in foundations, and commercial projects, including large and complex structures., • Assist with wire sawing, wall sawing, flat sawing, core drilling, and other specialized concrete cutting tasks as assigned., • Operate or assist with heavy equipment used in concrete demolition and construction activities, following all safety guidelines., • Maintain all tools and equipment in good working condition, including performing basic cleaning and inspections; report any issues promptly., • Work comfortably in dirty, dusty, wet, and debris-filled environments and perform heavy lifting throughout the workday., • Comply with all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to site-specific safety rules., • Participate in a full day of orientation and safety training on the first day and apply that training consistently on the job., • Maintain a positive, drug-free work environment and support a culture of safety and teamwork., • Manage daily workflow to meet changing priorities and project schedules, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently., • Accurately complete daily paperwork, including job documentation and vehicle inspection reports, in a timely and organized manner., • Travel across the Treasure Valley to various job sites as scheduled, arriving on time and prepared with required gear., • Demonstrate reliability, strong work ethic, and pride in workmanship by delivering high-quality results on every project., • Learn and apply new techniques and skills in concrete cutting and demolition as training is provided, taking advantage of opportunities for career growth.Essential Skills, • At least 1 year of experience in construction, demolition, heavy labor, or other physically demanding work environment., • Ability and willingness to perform very physical labor, including heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and working for extended periods on your feet., • Comfort working in dirty, dusty, wet, and debris-filled environments and in various outdoor weather conditions., • Ability to safely use or learn to use wall saws, core drills, hand saws, flat saws, and other hand and power tools., • Willingness to operate or assist with heavy equipment used in concrete cutting and demolition., • Strong mechanical aptitude to help maintain equipment, even if formal mechanical experience is not required., • Ability to follow detailed safety policies and procedures and consistently use required personal protective equipment., • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to manage changing priorities on active job sites., • Capability to complete basic paperwork accurately, including daily reports and vehicle inspection forms., • Strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to maintaining a positive, drug-free work environment., • Possession of steel toe shoes prior to starting work, as they are required on day one.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience as a farmhand, in the military, construction, or demolition, which often translates well to this role., • Previous experience with concrete construction, concrete finishing, or concrete cutting., • Familiarity with general construction labor tasks and safe use of hand tools and power tools., • OSHA certifications, including OSHA 10, are highly valued but not required., • MSHA-related certifications or experience are a plus but not required., • Willingness to complete a full-day orientation and safety training prior to field work., • Interest in long-term employment and building a career in concrete cutting and demolition., • Ability to describe past projects and demonstrate pride in previous work, whether residential or commercial., • Comfort working within a 700-hour contract-to-hire arrangement before conversion to permanent employment.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is field-based and requires daily travel across the Treasure Valley to various job sites where concrete cutting and drilling are performed. Workdays typically begin at 6:45 a.m. and continue until the job is complete, with most days ending around late afternoon, though some days may run longer depending on project needs. The work is highly physical and often dirty, involving exposure to dust, debris, wet conditions, and outdoor elements. You will regularly handle heavy materials and operate or work around saws, drills, and heavy equipment in active construction and demolition environments. A full day of orientation and safety training is provided on the first day, and personal protective equipment is supplied; however, steel toe shoes are required and must be provided by the employee. The role operates under a 700-hour contract-to-hire structure, and you will work as part of a small, tight-knit crew where teamwork, safety, and clear communication are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boise, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
