As the General Manager, you'll serve as the strategic leader of the hotel, overseeing every aspect of operations while fostering a culture built on Achieve, Trust, Honesty, Excellence, Networking, and Accommodations (ATHENA). What You'll DoLead the Hotel You'll be responsible for the overall success of the property by creating an environment where guests love to stay, associates love to work, and ownership sees exceptional results. You'll: • Champion Athena Hospitality Group's culture, values, and leadership philosophy., • Lead all hotel operations, ensuring every department operates efficiently and collaboratively., • Develop and execute strategic plans that drive revenue, profitability, guest satisfaction, and associate engagement., • Foster an environment of accountability, communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement., • Serve as the face of the hotel within the community, building relationships with guests, clients, ownership, and business partners.Drive Operational Excellence You'll ensure every guest experiences a hotel that is clean, welcoming, well-maintained, and operating at the highest level. Responsibilities include: • Maintaining all brand standards and Athena Hospitality Group operating standards., • Overseeing Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage (where applicable), Engineering, Sales, and Accounting operations., • Maintaining exceptional property appearance through regular hotel inspections., • Ensuring public spaces, guest rooms, back-of-house areas, kitchens, and grounds meet cleanliness, maintenance, and safety expectations., • Maintaining an effective key control and security program., • Ensuring OSHA, MSDS, life safety, and risk management compliance., • Managing capital improvement projects including renovations, refreshes, signage, and property upgrades., • Delegating projects effectively while maintaining accountability for results., • Preparing for brand inspections, ownership visits, quality audits, and operational reviews.Own the Financial Performance As General Manager, you'll think like an owner. You'll lead financial performance by: • Driving revenue growth and maximizing profitability., • Managing hotel budgets, forecasting, labor costs, and expense controls., • Reviewing financial statements, productivity reports, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement., • Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, banking, petty cash, purchasing, and financial controls., • Managing labor deployment across departments to maximize service while achieving labor goals., • Ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company procedures., • Delivering strong returns on investment for ownership.Champion Revenue & Sales Great General Managers don't just operate hotels—they grow them. You'll: • Partner with the Sales team to develop and execute the annual Marketing and Sales Plan., • Identify opportunities to increase occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and market share., • Participate in sales calls, networking events, and community partnerships., • Build relationships with key clients, corporate accounts, and local businesses., • Support revenue management initiatives and pricing strategies., • Capitalize on every opportunity to increase hotel performance.Develop Exceptional Teams People are our greatest asset. Responsibilities include: • Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining top hospitality talent., • Coaching managers through leadership development and succession planning., • Providing regular feedback, recognition, and performance coaching., • Holding leaders accountable while supporting their professional growth., • Ensuring staffing levels align with business demands and guest expectations., • Coaching department leaders on scheduling strategies and labor optimization., • Promoting Athena Hospitality Group's Open Door Policy and Guarantee of Fair Treatment., • Creating an engaging workplace built on respect, teamwork, and accountability.Deliver Remarkable Guest Experiences Hospitality begins with leadership. You'll set the tone for exceptional service by: • Maintaining a visible leadership presence throughout the hotel., • Leading by example with professionalism, urgency, and positivity., • Resolving guest concerns quickly and effectively., • Identifying service opportunities and implementing meaningful improvements., • Ensuring all team members consistently deliver brand-standard guest experiences., • Driving guest satisfaction, online reputation, and loyalty performance.Communicate & Collaborate As General Manager, you'll serve as the communication bridge between the hotel and Athena Hospitality Group leadership. You'll: • Participate in leadership meetings and conference calls., • Prepare reports, operational updates, and performance summaries., • Present property performance to the Vice President of Operations and corporate leadership., • Prepare for ownership meetings, brand visits, audits, and operational reviews., • Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment with company initiatives.Requirements: What We're Looking For • Minimum 5 years of progressive hotel operations experience., • At least 3 years of leadership experience as a hotel manager or department leader., • High School Diploma or GED required., • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred.Preferred Skills We're looking for someone who is: • A proven leader who inspires high-performing teams., • Financially savvy with strong business acumen., • Passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences., • Comfortable making data-driven decisions., • Highly organized with excellent time management skills., • A confident communicator who builds strong relationships., • Adaptable, solutions-focused, and calm under pressure., • Committed to continuous learning and operational excellence.Physical Requirements To perform this role successfully, candidates must be able to: • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs., • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the property., • Lift and carry up to 40 pounds., • Operate standard office equipment and computer systems., • Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.Why Athena Hospitality Group?
