Job Description Job Title: Production Worker Job Description The Production Worker supports a chemical manufacturing and distribution facility by safely handling materials, operating a sit-down forklift, and preparing products for shipment. This role involves staging and labeling products, performing chemical filling tasks, and ensuring that totes and containers meet quality and regulatory standards for industrial, food manufacturing, and pharmaceutical applications. Responsibilities • Stage finished products and materials for shipment according to established procedures., • Operate a sit-down forklift to move, load, and unload products and materials safely throughout the facility., • Correctly label products and chemicals in accordance with company standards and applicable regulations., • Perform chemical filling operations, including manual fills, while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)., • Fill totes, clean them thoroughly, remove old labels, and apply new labels as required., • Load and unload trucks using a forklift, ensuring accurate placement and secure loads., • Handle chemicals in a safe and controlled manner, using appropriate protective equipment., • Follow written and verbal instructions accurately to complete daily production tasks., • Use a tape measure to verify measurements and ensure product and container specifications are met., • Maintain a clean and organized work area appropriate for a chemical production environment., • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe material-handling practices., • 3+ years of experience working in a production environment, preferably in a GMP-regulated setting., • 3+ years of forklift experience, including operating a sit-down forklift., • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately., • Strong ability to follow instructions and take direction effectively., • Demonstrated safety orientation and commitment to safe work practices., • Experience with material handling in a production or warehouse environment., • Familiarity with chemical handling procedures., • Experience working in environments that support industrial, food manufacturing, or pharmaceutical production., • Experience in labeling and relabeling products, including chemical containers and totes., • Comfort working in a chemical production setting with associated odors such as ammonia or chlorine. Work Environment The role is based in a chemical manufacturing and distribution plant that produces materials used in industrial, food manufacturing, and pharmaceutical applications. The environment can be dirty due to the nature of the work, but it is maintained to appropriate standards for chemical production. Employees may notice chemical odors, including ammonia or chlorine, as part of the normal workplace conditions. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on first shift. After training, employees participate in a rotation in which approximately one month out of every 9–11 months they work an 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. schedule to cover dock operations; overall, employees must be able to work up to 10-hour days, typically between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position involves regular forklift operation, staging, and material handling in a production setting. Protective wear, including face shields, safety glasses, and full rubber suits, is provided when handling chemicals, and employees are expected to use this equipment as required by safety protocols. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
