Job Description The Business Development & Revenue Coordinator is responsible for advancing Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden’s earned-revenue activities through the identification, coordination, and implementation of revenue-generating opportunities. This role focuses on growing and diversifying non-philanthropic revenue streams, strengthening partnerships, and improving the financial performance of programs, events, and rentals that are operated directly by Klehm. The position works closely with the Executive Director and internal staff to evaluate opportunities, develop pricing and packaging concepts, coordinate implementation, and track results. This is a strategic execution role and does not include supervisory responsibilities or oversight of fundraising, major gifts, or grant development. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Earned Revenue Development • Support the development and expansion of Klehm’s earned-revenue streams, including non-wedding facility rentals operated by Klehm, ticketed programs and special events, memberships, and sponsorships tied to programs or events., • Support the development and coordination of earned-revenue opportunities tied to Klehm’s events, programs and visitor experiences, such as group visits, ticketed programs, and packaged or block ticket offerings for concerts and seasonal events., • Assist in evaluating new revenue opportunities and refining existing offerings to improve financial performance., • Coordinate with internal staff to ensure revenue-generating activities are operationally feasible and aligned with Klehm’s mission and capacity. Rental & Program Revenue Coordination • Coordinate pricing, packaging, and logistical considerations for rentals and group use of Klehm facilities (e.g., garden clubs, celebrations, meetings, educational groups)., • Serve as a point of coordination for rental inquiries managed directly by Klehm, working closely with facilities and administrative staff., • Track rental usage, utilization trends, and revenue performance to support ongoing improvement., • Collaborate with external partners as needed to support revenue-generating activities. Note: Wedding and corporate rentals managed by third-party partners are excluded from this role, however, detailed venue coordination with third-party partners is a direct responsibility of this role. Partnerships & Sponsorship Support • Assist in identifying and cultivating sponsorship opportunities tied to Klehm programs and events., • Coordinate sponsorship fulfillment in collaboration with marketing and events staff., • Maintain records of sponsorship agreements, deliverables, and timelines., • Support relationship management with business and community partners. Analysis, Tracking & Reporting • Track earned-revenue performance across programs, events, and rentals., • Prepare basic financial summaries, utilization reports, and performance dashboards for internal review., • Use data to inform recommendations related to pricing, scheduling, packaging, and capacity., • Support budget development and forecasting related to earned-revenue activities. Cross-Department Coordination • Work collaboratively with the Marketing & Events Coordinator to ensure revenue-generating activities are appropriately promoted., • Coordinate with facilities and operational staff to align revenue activity with site capacity and staffing., • Support internal planning efforts related to seasonal programming and revenue goals. QUALIFICATIONS: Required • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience., • 3–5 years of experience in business development, revenue coordination, program management, or a related field., • Demonstrated ability to work with budgets, pricing concepts, or revenue data., • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills., • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously., • Experience in a nonprofit, cultural, or public-facing organization, • Experience supporting earned-revenue activities in a mission-driven setting., • Familiarity with CRM, ticketing, or scheduling systems., • Interest in horticulture, public gardens, or cultural organizations WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE • Office-based with regular interaction across departments., • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required in support of events or programs., • Seasonal fluctuations in workload tied to programming and event schedules. Compensation & Benefits • Full-time position. Compensation commensurate with experience. SKILLS: • Strong customer service skills are a required component of this job., • Strong written and verbal skills are essential to this position. Writing, editing, and proof-reading with a high level of accuracy is a large part of the job., • Candidate should demonstrate MS Office Suite skills, particularly in Excel and Word., • Candidate should be acquainted with standard office technology. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Must be physically agile. Must be able to speak and hear. Must be able to lift 25 pounds. POSITION NOTES: • This role focuses on earned revenue, not fundraising or donor relations., • The position does not include staff supervision., • Strategic direction is provided by the Executive Director; this role is responsible for execution, coordination, and analysis., • Duties may evolve as revenue activities expand, consistent with the scope of the position. .
