Job Description JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but are not limited to): • Enforce and promote the quality system and objectives § Supervise production processes for compliance with standards and specifications, • Evaluate process technologies and procedures for quality aspects and make recommendations, • Strongly support the investigation of customer complaints and find ways to improve process, • Measure, examine and test the product’s characteristics against specifications, using software-aided test instruments (such as vision systems, load, torque, and angle testers), calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, ring gages, plug gages, specialty gages, etc., • Perform pre-production inspections (PPI) through reviews of: - Manufacturing Order packets, staged raw materials and labeling to assess whether they are complete, accurate and relevant to the product to be produced - SPC test instruments and gages to ensure they are ready (e.g., calibrated, in good shape, clean, functional) - Line clearance has been or performed adequately (removal of prior lot documentation, labels, components, raw materials, rejected parts, etc.), • Perform during-production inspection (DPI) to provide early detection of any issues requiring correction and provide recommendations. - Review first article samples and data - Conduct random sampling and test early SPC samples - Verify label, package and packaging material details, • Perform pre-shipping inspection (PSI) to ensure that production complies with the specifications of the customer before they are shipped. - Verify label, package and packaging material details - Evaluate SPC data against limits for accuracy, alerts and trends during and at end of runs - Review completeness of final manufacturing paperwork, logbooks, proforma certificates, presence of SPC samples and, if required, untested samples, • Release accepted product into finished goods ERP., • Perform loading inspection (LI) to guarantee controls are being followed and correct order is shipped to customer. - Check the order picking, staging process to ensure the correct product, lot and quantity • Witness barcode scanning for correct product or pallet during loading * Perform proper reaction and containment of suspect and nonconforming product and material. * Conduct raw material rejections * reviewing issue, taking pictures, testing wire when required, sending samples to vendor, monitoring 30-day hold cases - Manage nonconforming product * reviewing and verifying the findings, providing quantities to supervisors, performing segregation or capability analysis, assisting in risk analysis, disposing product per instructions • Control the Hold Area log, tag, entry and exit of materials., • Assist Production personnel in understanding inspection plans, drawings, specifications and work instructions., • Monitor and observe operations to ensure they meet the relevant production standards, including performing gemba walks or layered process audits as needed., • Support Gage R&R's by performing tests and monitoring each participant to ensure the same technique is being followed., • Support Quality department in developing standard work instructions, as needed., • Support environmental, safety and quality mindset by monitoring, reporting and/or addressing potential environmental, safety or quality issues or improvement., • Support the maintenance of test instruments and gages by monitoring calibration due dates, replacing gages at SPC stations and maintaining cleanliness of SPC stations. Other job duties, • Fix issues that might occur, keep team lead informed., • Communicate and act proactively across departments and locations., • Enforce quality standards and define metrics to assess overall performance against objectives and competitors, • Ensure that the system is operated with legality and conformity, • Communicate and act proactively across departments and locations, • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing environment., • Computer skills necessary to use software-aided test instruments, MRP (SAP) and in-process test database, with a good knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)., • Good eyesight to perform visual inspection. § Ability to properly use measuring devices such as pin gages, test meters and calipers., • Good attendance is a must and be flexible to working overtime or off-shift when required., • Organized and attention to details to review and/or maintain necessary records, files, and make reports., • Good written and verbal communication skills in English., • Basic math skills. § Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 lbs., • Previous experience with Workday and Smartsheet is a plus., • Authority consists of:, • Stop receipt of materials at Final Inspection that do not meet Quality/Customer requirements.
